This enchanting holiday, aboard the MV Seagull, chartered exclusively for Titan, will let you discover the beautiful unspoilt jewels of the mid-Dalmatian coastline. The vessel offers a stylish small ship cruise experience, travelling with like-minded guests in comfort and in an informal atmosphere with friendly service. We begin our holiday with a stay in Zagreb with an included excursion to Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana and Lake Bled, before we board the MV Seagull to visit such unspoilt gems as the captivating forests and waterfalls of Krka National Park and Plitvice National Park.
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport for a direct, scheduled Croatia Airlines or British Airways flight to Zagreb. On arrival this evening, you will be transferred to the Sheraton Zagreb (5T), where we enjoy a welcome drink and dinner.
After breakfast this morning, there will be a sightseeing guided tour of Zagreb. In the heart of the city is Bana Josip Jelacica Square, named after the 19th century governor, which divides Donji Grad (Lower Town) and Gornji Grad (Upper Town). With streets made for strolling, there are numerous ways to spend the rest of your day - aim for museums and parks or Dolac Market for a true taste of Zagreb.
We start our full day excursion to Slovenia with the city of Ljubljana, one of Europe’s most delightful capital cities, balancing the demands of modern life with relaxed charm. Ljubljana Castle is the largest of the city’s castles, and the mighty medieval fortress which we have chosen to explore today, contains museums on Slovene history. We return to Croatia via Lake Bled to see the beautiful waters as they gently lap against picturesque Bled Island, where the Gothic and Baroque church architecture peers through vibrant greenery.
This morning we depart Zagreb for Trogir stopping en route at Plitvice lakes where you will have time to walk around this UNESCO-protected national wonder with a guide, as boardwalks take you across the waters to breathtaking views of the 16 lakes, each connected by waterfalls. Our journey continues to Trogir where we board the MV Seagull (3T) and overnight in Trogir. The ship is our base for the next seven nights. Dinner is included this evening.
We have a short tour of Trogir this morning, before we sail towards Zlarin, a small island with only 276 residents during the winter, and famous for its red coral. The afternoon is free to explore this beautiful small island.
Enjoy breakfast before departing towards Zadar, a town with a very interesting history; the area was under Italian occupation from 1920-1947 which left a significant mark on the local dialect and culture. In 1944, the Croatian Partisans liberated the beautiful town of Zadar. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations and the fifth largest town in Croatia.
Following breakfast, there will be a tour of Zadar, before departing early afternoon for Sali. Situated on the northeast coast of the island, with a thousand years of tradition, Sali is surrounded with natural parks, ancient olive trees, and a rich cultural and religious inheritance from the early centuries of Christianity. Captain’s dinner this evening, before we overnight here.
We set sail from Sali towards our next port of call bypassing the Kornati National Park, also known as the Stomorski islands. Set in an area of about 320 square kilometres, the Kornati are the densest archipelago in the Adriatic Sea. Once we have passed the Kornati, we arrive in Šibenik where we explore this charming town and its rich, deep history that spans one thousand years and has witnessed all the major forces that have tried to conquer these parts of Europe.
This morning we cruise towards Skradin, a small town situated near the Krka National Park. The national park is mostly known for its beautiful waterfalls located on the Krka River; but when one considers the flora and fauna to be found here, this park is a treasure chest, especially for ornithologists who can enjoy over 222 bird species in this area. The most well-known waterfall is Skradinski buk, named after the nearby town and considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe. After we have visited the park by boat, followed by a walk around the falls, we will be transferred to the superb Bibich Winery, where we enjoy a tasting of their famous upmarket wines. In the afternoon, we leave Skradin and continue towards the small town of Primošten, renowned for its particular peninsular shape. The best views in the old town are reserved for St George’s church and the town’s cemetery; and seeing the neighbouring islets of Smokvica and Maslinovik will leave you in awe. The town is renowned for its grapevines that grow out of stone; in fact, these unusual vineyards are under consideration to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After time for individual exploration in Primošten, we enjoy dinner on board and overnight.
From Primošten, we set sail towards the cosmopolitan Split, centred around the imposing fortified Roman Palace of Emporor Diocletian, one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments. We take a guided tour through the old footpaths that grid the heart of this lively city to see the courtyards and temples before time at leisure to enjoy the atmosphere with a coffee in one of the ancient squares.
An early start this morning, as we disembark and transfer to Split Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight or scheduled Croatia Airlines flight (via Zagreb) to London Heathrow Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
