Explore two beautiful Nordic capitals in one effortless trip. We begin in stunning Stockholm, whose 14 islands offer delights like the atmospheric cobbled Gamla Stan (Old Town) and unmissable Vasa Museum, which houses an exquisitely preserved 17th century warship. A comfortable train ride then takes us to Copenhagen, where you can immerse yourself in the fairy-tales of Hans Christian Anderson, a previous city resident. We also visit Frederiksborg Castle, an enormous Renaissance masterpiece meticulously restored after a fire in 1859.

Day 1
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Stockholm. On arrival we transfer to the centrally located Scandic Klara (3T+), Clarion Hotel Amaranten (3T+) or Downtown Camper by Scandic (4T), with the rest of the day free to settle into your surroundings.

Day 2
Stockholm is considered one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, sitting on an archipelago of some 30,000 islands, skerries and rocks that spread into the Baltic Sea. We have a half-day tour of the city to take in the mix of grand public buildings and palaces, quaint wooden homes and cafés. We pass through Gamla Stan, the old town of cobblestone streets lined with faded mustard and rust-coloured town houses, to see the vast Baroque Royal Palace and the Royal Chapel where Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, married in 2010. See the Stockholm Concert Hall and City Hall, where the prestigious Nobel Prize ceremonies and banquets are held annually on the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death, plus the Vasa Museum, where the beautifully restored top-heavy warship ‘Vasa’, which sunk on her maiden voyage in 1627, can be seen. This afternoon is at leisure to explore the city’s 14 compact islands: return to the boutiques and antique shops of Gamla Stan; visit one of the five museums within the palace or the Abba Museum in the tranquil Djurgården; or learn about traditional Sweden in the world’s first open-air museum, Skansen.

Day 3
Sit back, relax and absorb some great scenery as a modern, comfortable train takes us from Stockholm to Copenhagen. On arrival we transfer to the Comfort Hotel Vesterbro (3T+), Copenhagen Island Hotel (3T+) or First Hotel Mayfair (4T).

Day 4
We have a half-day tour of Copenhagen, commencing with a visit to the Gefion Fountain, a large monument depicting the Norse Goddess Gefion, and the bronze statue of the ‘Little Mermaid’, the city landmark inspired by the fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen who lived in and around the city. Our tour also takes in the impressive Royal Theatre and Christianborg Palace, where Danish Parliament sits. After the tour you may like to visit the Hans Christian Andersen Fairy-Tale House exhibiting his study and his works, see Denmark’s crown jewels at moated Rosenborg Castle or spend time in the Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park with wonderful gardens and beautiful buildings where orchestras, ballet companies and bands regularly perform within the numerous venues and open air theatres.

Day 5
Today starts with an included excursion to one of Denmark’s museums dedicated to the warriors who raided their way across Europe. The superb Viking Ship Museum displays five Viking ships that have been recovered from the bed of Roskilde Fjord, where they were sunk to create an underwater barrier to block encroaching enemies. The museum tells of the importance of the sea to the Vikings and, in the Museum Harbour, you can see reconstructions of various traditional Scandinavian vessels including Viking ships. We continue to Frederiksborg Castle, one of the finest and biggest Renaissance castles in northern Europe. Built by King Christian IV, the ambitious builder of Copenhagen, in the 17th century, it became the residence of the royal family and the venue of many ceremonial events until it was devastated by fire in 1859. Over 300 priceless paintings and artwork were saved and are displayed in the castle that was meticulously reconstructed from the old architectural drawings. There is also time to explore the beautifully manicured Baroque garden. We return to our hotel to spend the rest of the day at leisure and further independent exploration of the city.

Day 6
We transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.

You will have the option to book your own flights independently with the operator.
