Day 1 – Arrive Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will make your way to the hotel for check-in. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 2 – Marrakech / Dades Gorge
Today we cross the High Atlas Mountains, passing many Berber villages along the way. At lunch time, we will stop for a visit at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, where many famous movies and television programmes have been filmed. We will then follow the route of a thousand Kasbah’s to where the Damascus rose is grown. Here we can stop to see these fragrant roses distilled into precious oils and other rose products. In the evening we will arrive at the stunning Dades Gorge, home to the country’s most unique rock formations. Overnight at a traditional guesthouse in Dades Gorge.

Day 3 – Dades Gorge / Sahara Desert
After breakfast, we will travel to the impressive Todra Gorge, a massive 300m deep fault in a narrow valley, studded with palmeries and Berber villages. We will also make a stop to a fascinating fossil workshop in Erfoud. The journey will take us past vast oases of palms and Kasbah’s hidden in ancient villages, before the dunes of the Sahara Desert begin to emerge in the distance. Once you have arrived at your desert camp, you will take a camel ride to the top of the dunes for one of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see. Overnight under the stars in the Sarah Desert.

Day 4 – Sahara Desert / Fes
An early start is essential if you want to see the sunrise over the desert dunes this morning. You will be mesmerised as the colours change and the sun chases away the night sky. After breakfast, we begin the long drive to Fes through winding mountain passes, impressive gorges and the great cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Overnight at a traditional riad in Fes.

Day 5 – Fes
After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided tour to discover the most interesting sites in the city’s Medina. The workshops of artisan’s in Fes create some of the most beautiful and intricate ceramics, woven goods and other crafts in the whole country. Overnight in Fes.

Day 6 – Fes / Chefchaouen
A morning departure from Fes will today take us to the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen. If time permits, we will stop to visit the Roman site at Volubilis on the way. You will have the afternoon free to explore the city’s medina. The best place to soak up the ambience at night is in the main square, near the old Kasbah; reminiscent of the small squares in rural Greece. The blue painted mountain hideaway of Chefchaouen is a photographer’s paradise. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 7 – Chefchaouen / Rabat / Casablanca
After breakfast we will begin the journey to Morocco’s capital, Rabat. Here we will visit the city’s most important monuments, before continuing our journey to the prosperous city of Casablanca. Casablanca will be completely different to the cities we have visited so far; a modern city where young Moroccan’s pursue careers in business, and where real money is made. Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 8 – Casablanca / Essaouira
This morning we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, with the tallest minaret in the world. It is this mosque alone that draws tourists to Casablanca. In the afternoon, we will begin our journey to the seaside town of Essaouira. The history of this charming fishing port is immersed in intrigue, piracy and the birth of Gnaoua music. Its narrow streets are full of art galleries, tiny artisan shops and seafood restaurants. Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 9 – Essaouria / Marrakech
You will have today free to explore Essaouira, either to explore the fishing port or relax on La Skala, the vast sandy beach best known for its water-sports. We will depart Essaouira late afternoon and return to Marrakech, where we will spend our final night.

Why Solo Travellers Group Holidays?

Solo Travellers Group Holidays was created in 2011 when the company’s founder, Nena, met with a group of friends to try and organise their next holiday. She’d always been good at organising the trips, but found it was getting increasingly more difficult to find friends to plan a trip with, let alone agree on a destination and budget, or get the same time off work. This was down to the fact that lot of her friends had settled down or wanted to do different things, and after asking around, she found others were experiencing the same problem. Having worked in the travel industry for over 20 years, and having already travelled much of the world, Nena wanted to use her experience and expertise to create a community of like-minded solo travellers who also wanted to explore the world with small groups, share experiences, and make new friends. This is when Solo Travellers Group Holidays was founded as a small independent company with a team that loved to travel and who take pride in going the extra mile to ensure the best customer experience with a personal service.

Solo Travellers Group Holidays recognise that people are leading increasingly busy lifestyles, making travel with friends and family more difficult, and finding dates to go away with each other sometimes impossible. Founding Solo Travellers Group Holidays was the perfect solution. They now organise tailor-made group tours, where anyone can join in and take advantage of the fact that everything is pre-organised, but where travellers still have the time and freedom to go off and explore on their own, which is the perfect balance.

Initially, Solo Travellers Group Holidays began offering European trips, finding that first-timers preferred a shorter trip to ease themselves into a new experience. Now, they travel to all corners of the earth and are constantly adding new destinations to their ever-expanding portfolio. Whether it’s salsa dancing into the night in Cuba, trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, or relaxing with a cocktail as you watch the sunset in stunning Santorini, they believe they have something for everyone to enjoy.

Solo Travellers Group Holidays also understand that you may have reservations or be hesitant about joining a trip on your own for the first time, which is why they send one of their friendly, well-travelled hosts on all their European trips, and why they have amazing local guides to accompany you on longer adventures.

As for your fellow travellers, you’ll find that most people are in the same boat as you; individuals in search of adventure with other solos, looking to make new friends to catch up with over a glass of wine whilst you slurp on linguine in Florence, or munch on tagine in Morocco.  Solo Travellers Group Holidays also have plenty of repeat customers, which helps create the community feel that is so important to many solo travellers. This is another reason they believe in keeping the groups small; so that you can get to know each and every one of your fellow travellers. Group sizes vary between trips, but generally you can expect to travel with 12 other solos.

Recently, Solo Travellers Group Holidays won the Bronze Award at the British Travel Awards in the Best Singles Company Small category and pride themselves on catering specifically for solo travellers. We would love for you to join our friendly community on one the many amazing adventures we offer and experience a new destination with lots of laughter and new friends.
