You've seen it in the movies and fantasised about it since forever, so why put it off any longer? Hawaii is the kind of island paradise that will have you dreaming of coming back as soon as you've left its shores, each time stealing another little piece of your heart. 9 days of sunshine, surf, coconuts and hula dancing are waiting...

Day 1 Honolulu to Waikiki
Well Aloha. Who's ready for 9 days of nothin' but good times and happy vibes? Fasten your seat belts, the ride is about to begin...
You see those people over there? They're about to become your new BFF's. Awkward hello's soon making way for excited chats about your upcoming adventure, we'll head out as a crew for a sightseeing tour of Waikiki, taking in sights including the Punchbowl Cemetery and the USS Arizona, located in Pearl Harbour. Your Trip Manager will fill in the history gaps for you, giving the full story of how 1177 sailors and Marines tragically lost their lives here during WWII. Later on, and we're not done with you yet, taking you to see the King Kamehameha statue - the only monarch celebrated in the USA, and the founder of the Kingdom of Hawaii. History goals achieved for today, tonight we'll grab dinner as a group, toasting to the first day of our journey.
Locations: Honolulu, Waikiki
Day 2 Waikiki
Today's all about living that sweet Hawaiian beach life as we make our way to Oahu's North Shore. Surfing fans, we know you'll be frothing at the sights you're about to see; waves of epic proportions (if you're lucky), surfers galore, and maybe even a surfing dog or two. But then, would you expect any less from the home of the Triple Crown of Surfing Championships? Grab a board and join the pros if you're feeling brave (don't stress, there are plenty of bay's suitable for beginners), or just kick back and watch the surfer boys and girls do their thing.
Day 3 Waikiki
Waikiki, what more can you offer us? With a full free day to explore, you'll soon find out. Maybe you're hungering for some Vitamin D and want nothing more than a towel and some hot rays, or of you're feeling adventurous, how about a surf lesson? This is after all the beach where surfing began. Dollars burning a hole in your pocket? A stroll through International Market Place and its cute shops could be the answer, or maybe take a hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater. A busy day we know, but the night is young, and our dancing shoes are ready to go...
Day 4 Waikiki to Kona via Hilo
Honolulu you've been a dream, but the Big Island of Hawaii is calling us and we've got a plane to catch...
Due to the continued eruption of Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii and the closure of Volcanoes National Park, we will reroute the trip around it, until further notice. Home of the Goddess of Fire, Pele, the Big Island boasts a tasty mix of vast craters, black beaches and flowing lava. Trust us, it's every bit as thrilling as it sounds, but due to the unpredictable nature of the Goddess we won’t be paying Pele a visit as she is showing her passionate and fiery temperament at the moment. After joining our coach in Hilo, we'll set off to grab a delicious cup of the famous Kona Coffee before pressing on to Akaka State Park to hike to the Falls. Then we're off to Hapuna State Beach for some beach time and lunch. With our camera memory maxed out with killer photos, we'll pull the brakes in Kailua Kona, home for the next two nights.
Locations: Waikiki, Kona
Day 5 Kona
Well good morning Kona! Famous for its Macadamia nuts and delicious coffee, the laid back vibes of this town will instantly win you over, making you wonder why you didn't come sooner. Today is a free day, but we hope we can tempt you with our Me Time snorkelling adventure - those reefs and fishes need to be seen to be believed. Tonight, we've got another special Optional up our sleeves in the shape of a sunset cruise. Flating on the water, surrounded by new friends and sipping on beers as the sunsets - perfection, right?
Day 6 Kona to Maui
From one island paradise to another, this morning we leave Kona on another included flight with the equally gorgeous Maui in our sights.
Known as the Valley Isle, Maui is a lush tropical paradise and our home for the next 3 nights. First up we'll visit the Lao Valley (think green on green on green, with a side order of waterfalls) before making our way into Lahaina Town. Tonight is then something special; you'll get to experience traditional Hawaiian Hookipa (hospitality to you and I) at a super fun Luau. We hope you got the memo to pack a fun Hawaiian shirt?
Locations: Kona, Maui
Day 7 Maui
Rise and shine, because now you're operating on Maui time and trust us, you don't want to miss a second. Today is yours to roam as you please; maybe beach nap it out on Kaanapali beach, or take a leisurely trip to the spa. However, if you want to add a touch of YOLO to your adventure, we've got just the answer - how about an all day Me Time Optional sailing trip to Lana'i. What does it involve you ask? Swimming, snorkelling, deck hangs and volleyball are all on the menu. Sign you up right now, shall we?
Day 8 Maui
Today is our last in Maui, so lets do this thing right. Another free day means yet more opportunities for DIY exploring. If you were sailing with us yesterday perhaps today you've got maxin relaxin in mind, but if you're still keen for more, we've got another down right incredible Optional to tempt you. Waking up early doors, we'll make our way to Mt Haleakala Volcano to watch the sunrise over the crater, then it's onto two wheels as we journey down (yes, really) the 3055m (10,023ft) volcano. Is it a bumpy ride? You'll have to wait and see... Bums suitably sore, tonight is our last as a Contiki fam, so let's make sure you go out with a bang...
Day 9 Maui (Depart Kaanapali)
Don't cry because it's over, instead smile because it happened. Hearts heavy but with memories that'll last a lifetime, today our Contiki wolf pack will go our seperate ways. But you know what eases the travel blues? Planning which corner of the world to head to next...

Touring with Contiki
Started by one man with big dreams in 1962, Contiki now offers over 300 trips to 6 continents for 18 to 35 year olds, with the mantra #NOREGRETS. It’s their way of life; it’s about changing your perspective on the world, walking in other’s shoes, witnessing different cultures, religions, and ways of living; it’s about living in the moment, pushing past your comfort zone, challenging yourself to do the things you never thought possible.
Contiki believe that travel is so much more than just ticking boxes and saying you were there. It’s not about doing things for the sake of doing them, or seeing things just because you should. For them, travel is all about experience. It’s the number of sunsets you’ve watched with best friends, the number of ancient landmarks you’ve visited, the number of times you’ve defied your comfort zone and done the extraordinary. So that’s what their trips are all about – the #NOREGRETS experiences that will make you, the traveller, richer than your wildest dreams.
Their incredible experiences encompass all interests and cultures – bathing in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, seeing the pyramids of Giza, walking the Great Wall of China, roadtrip along Route 66, watch the sunrise over Uluru, party in Las Vegas, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, zipline through the Costa Rica rainforest, see the Mona Lisa, fly over the Grand Canyon or cuddle a Koala. The cost of your trip ensures Contiki take care of all your travel arrangements, accommodation, breakfasts and dinners, organised activities, plenty of free time and optional ‘me’ time activities to put your own unique stamp on your travel experience.
Contiki cater to all travellers, whether you want to cram in as many destinations as possible and experience everything or stick in one region for a while for an in depth exploration to really get under the skin of the country, they have the trip for you and many other options in between. Choose a purely water-based adventure with their Sailing, Cruise and Beach holidays, or snowy travels with the Winter holidays and even purely camping accommodation to make the most of your holiday budget but still see and experience all your destination has to offer.
Contiki is a founding partner of TreadRight, a not-for-profit foundation established by The Travel Corporation in 2008 to encourage sustainable tourism within its family of amazing travel brands.
