Focusing primarily on Spitsbergen's scenic west coast, this comprehensive voyage covers less distance in order to maximise time on land. Regular shore excursions offer the chance to uncover the natural and human history of the island, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife as you go!
Day 1: embarkation, Longyearbyen. Board your ship in Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen's largest settlement.
Days 2-10: West & North Spitsbergen. Over the next few days your expedition team will take advantage of local ice and weather conditions to explore the highlights of western Spitsbergen, as well as aiming to visit some of the northern outlying islands. Highlights may include a Zodiac cruise along the face of the 14th of July glacier, searching for Arctic foxes, barnacle geese and more on shore, or marvelling at the thousands of seabirds that nest on the towering rock face of Alkhornet. Conditions permitting you may reach the northern island of Phippsoya, a favourite spot for walrus.
Day 11: disembarkation, Longyearbyen. Your adventure ends as it began, in the frontier-style settlement of Longyearbyen.
