Druk Path Trek tour

This tour provides a great taste of many aspects of Bhutan, including an introduction to its history and culture through visits to several Dzongs, beautiful temples, and other sites. You also get right into the Himalayan foothills with a beautiful fully catered camping trek on the Druk Path route, where you see and learn about rural Bhutanese life in some stunning mountain scenery. The tour starts with your flight into Paro where you first realise what a special and different country you're going to be exploring, with a walk up to Bhutan's most famous site, the Taktshang monastery. Your trek starts from Paro, and you have 7 days walking in beautiful mountain scenery (around 5-6 hours walking per day). En-route you visit the Phobjika Valley, a migratory home of the endangered Black Necked Crane. Your nights are spent in tents and the camp crew provide excellent meals and service. After the trek, your first tours are to the vast weekend market, the memorial Chorten and other interesting sites in and around the capital, Thimphu. A short drive take you to Punahka for a visit to the beautiful Punakha Dzong. Next you then drive across the Dochu La Pass on winding forested roads to visit Wangduephodrang Dzong where you learn about the combined religious and administrative function of these ancient buildings. You return to Paro where your tour ends.
