Arrive at any time. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting

Day 2 Medan/Tangkahan (1B)

Enjoy a morning tour of Medan. After, traverse bumpy roads to reach the small jungle community of Tangkahan. Opt to go hiking. Included Activities: Medan City Tour Transport: Minibus (5.00 hour(s), 100km)

Day 3 Tangkahan/Bukit Lawang (1B)

Travel across bumpy roads to Bukit Lawang, located close to Gunung Leuser National Park. Transport: Minibus (6.00 hour(s))

Day 4 Bukit Lawang (1B)

Gunung Leuser National Park, located nearby, is a great place to do some wildlife trekking through the jungle.

Day 5 Bukit Lawang/Berastagi (1B)

Orientation walk upon arrival. Free afternoon with the option to visit the local hot springs. Included Activities: Orientation Walk Transport: Minibus (7.00-8.00 hours, 160km)

Day 6 Berastagi (1B)

Opt to hike a volcano or tour traditional villages.

Day 7 Berastagi/Samosir Island (1B)

Travel to the world's largest volcano lake, Lake Toba. Transport: Minibus (8.00 hour(s), 190km)

Day 8 Samosir Island (1B)

Chill out and swim in the warm waters of the lake or opt for some culture by visiting local Batak villages.

Day 9 Samosir Island/Padangsidempuan (1B)

Drive through beautiful scenery on this travel day, stopping at the bustling city of Padang Sidempuan for the night. Transport: Minibus (9.00 hour(s))

Day 10 Padangsidempuan/Bukittinggi (1B)

Embark on another day of travel, including stops along the way for lunch and a spice garden visit. Enjoy a brief, CEO-led orientation walk of Bukittinggi in the evening. Included Activities: Orientation Walk Transport: Minibus (10.00 hour(s))

Day 11 Bukittinggi (1B)

Enjoy a free day to check out some sights, like Sianok Canyon or the Japanese Caves built during World War II.

Day 12 Bukittinggi/Padang (1B)

Travel to Padang and settle in at the beach hotel before enjoying some free time to explore. Transport: Minibus (2.00 hour(s), 30km)

Day 13 Padang (1B)

Enjoy a full free day in Padang. Opt for a trip to nearby scenic islands.

Day 14 Padang/Jakarta (1B)

Fly to Jakarta and start exploring the island of Java. Additional Notes: Some travellers may be leaving the tour in Padang and others may be joining the tour in Jakarta. You are welcome to join them at a group meeting this evening, followed by an optional dinner. Transport: Plane

Day 15 Jakarta/Cianjur (1B)

Venture to Cianjur via Bogor, visit the floating villages, and opt to visit a tea plantation. Experience local life by spending the night at a homestay. Additional Notes: Experience local life by spending the night at a homestay. The homestay is located on the outer ring of Cianjur, and accommodation is multi-share. Day 16 Cianjur/Bandung (1B)

Depart the homestay and travel to the sprawling city of Bandung, Indonesia's third largest city. Included Activities: Orientation Walk Transport: Private Vehicle (2.00 hour(s))

Day 17 Bandung/Yogyakarta (1B)

Travel from Bandung to Yogyakarta on a scenic train journey. Transport: Train (7.00 hour(s), 402km)

Days 18-19 Yogyakarta

Spend free time visiting local sights such as the Buddhist Borobudur temple complex, Javanese temples, or Mt Merapi.

Day 20 Yogyakarta/Ngadas (1B, 1D)

Begin the day with the train journey to Malang. On arrival in Malang, transfer to a private vehicle for about an hour to reach Ngadas. Upon arrival in the village, meet your hosts and settle into the homestay. In the evening, enjoy a dinner of local fare before gathering at the home of one of the community leaders to learn more about the region's customs and history. Day 21 Desa Ngadas/Bromo (1B, 1L)

After an early breakfast, say good bye to your hosts and explore more of the village on an included walk. Then begin the trek along the Ancestor Trail to Mt Bromo, led by a local guide trained through a G Adventures-supported capacity building program. Day 22 Bromo/Red Island (1B)

A pre-dawn trek across the “sea of sand” to watch the sunrise over the crater’s rim is a must, popular with both tourists and the local Buddhist Tenggerese, who can be seen giving offerings of food to receive blessings from the Supreme God Hyang Widi Wasa. Day 23 Red Island (1B)

Enjoy a surf lesson in the morning, then use free time to explore the nearby fishing village, do some more surfing or chill out in a hammock. Included Activities: Surfing Lesson

Day 24 Red Island/Pemuteran (1B)

Day 25 Pemuteran (1B)

Chill out in Bali. Opt to take a snorkelling or diving trip to Menjangan Island.

Day 26 Pemuteran/Kuta (1B)

Today's drive is a journey, highlighting the spectacular natural diversity and intense cultural wealth that makes Bali such a sought after destination. Our journey takes us across the island of Bali, through the rich tropical jungle, passing by idyllic terraced rice fields, and quaint scenes of local village life. We then arrive at our overnight destination – popular Kuta beach. Transport: Private Vehicle (5.00-5.50 hours)

Day 27 Kuta (1B)

Spend a free day in Kuta. Opt to take a surf lesson, explore the shops, chill out on the beach, or head to one of the nearby towns.

Day 28 Kuta/Kubutambahan (1B, 1L, 1D)

Travel to Kubutambahan, enjoying beautiful scenery along the way, and stop for lunch at the G Adventures-supported Bali Community Training Lunch Program en route. Day 29 Kubutambahan (1B, 1D)

Try your hand at Balinese cuisine with an included cooking lesson. Opt to trek around the village, visit a waterfall or swim in a natural spring, or check out a nearby dragon fruit farm. Included Activities: Cooking Demonstration and Meal

Day 30 Kubutambahan/Ubud (1B)

Day 31 Ubud (1B)

Day 32 Ubud/Gili Trawangan (1B)

Transfer to Padang Bai and catch a fast boat to the laid-back island of Gili Trawangan. Beautiful Gili T is home to clear waters and an assortment of beachfront bars, and – best of all – the island doesn't allow motorized vehicles. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore. Day 33 Gili Trawangan (1B)

Spend another day in paradise. Chill out at a café, rent a bike and cruise around, or just kick back and relax on the beach. This evening, enjoy a final night out with the group.
