Everyone loves Venice – arguably one of the most unique and stunning cities in the world. Take in the beauty of picturesque squares and iconic buildings and then wander through the maze of laneways pausing for an espresso or a spot to eat. Don’t forget to stroll along the waterfront of the Grand Canal too and enjoy the sight of the many gondoliers – it’s the perfect place for a memorable break away.
Not surprisingly, hotel prices can be astronomical, and accommodation often means staying somewhere on the mainland or on the outer islands, which is frustrating because you miss the chance to experience the city 'out of hours' when the ferries and buses aren't running. But not on this break.
On our break the furthest away you'll be is the rooftop terrace bar, as you drink cocktails at your hotel on the Grand Canal itself, just 15 minutes' walk from the Rialto. That's the best way to experience Venice!
Located on the Grand Canal waterfront close to Piazzale Roma in the Santa Croce district, the Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal is furnished throughout in the Venetian style of the 1700s including Baroque plasterwork, damask curtains and Murano glass chandeliers, while providing all modern facilities including lifts and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are en suite with hairdryer and toiletries, satellite TV with BBC channels, safe and minibar.
