Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to Beijing! Arrival transfer from Beijing airport to your hotel.

Day 2: Optional Beijing Sightseeing
( overnight in Beijing)
Spend the day at leisure, independently exploring the capital. Alternatively embark on an optional Beijing sightseeing tour which includes lunch. The Beijing sightseeing tour takes you to Badaling, to walk (and almost a climb at times) a section of the Great Wall. Following a ridge of barren hills through northern China, the Great Wall stretches as far as the eye can see - at least 6,700 km. Back in Beijing, take a stroll across historical Tiananmen Square. A vision in grandeur with its imperial yellow roofs and vermilion walls, the Forbidden City is a city within a city, once forbidden to all except those on imperial business until 1911, when the last emperor Puyi was removed from power. Enjoy a guided tour through what was once the innermost sanctum of the city.

Day 3: Beijing - Moscow
( overnight in Train)
Beijing - Moscow. Another free day to explore the sights of Beijing. Tonight you will be transferred to Beijing rail station to board the train, travelling express to Moscow.

Day 4-7: Life on board
( overnight in train)
On board train - Settle into life on board the Trans-Manchurian Express as it plies its way across the Manchurian Plains to the Russian border. The train heads west eventually reaching the main Trans-Siberian line at Tarskaya. You'll cross the border into Russia in the early hours of the morning on day 5 and travel along the shores of beautiful Lake Baikal and across large tracts of Siberia and the Urals on your way to Moscow.

Day 8: Moscow

Moscow - Late this afternoon, the train reaches Moscow, where your adventure concludes.

NOTE: Schedules dictate a late afternoon arrival into Moscow on day 8. We recommend that you stay for at least one night in Moscow to avoid the risk of missing your onward international flight.
