From our base in the maritime town of Whitby, we enjoy the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors, visit fascinating Ryedale Folk Museum and have time to explore the magnificent city of Durham and pretty Thornton-le-Dale.

Royal Whitby Hotel (primary)

High on the West Cliff, the Royal occupies a commanding position with wonderful views over the beaches, harbour and lovely old town, and towards the dramatic abbey ruins. Bursting with seafaring heritage, Whitby's ancient streets invite you to step back in time, so much so that you can almost expect to bump into Captain Cook when following his trail! Step inside the Royal, meanwhile and you'll be taken into another world of holiday relaxation and fun. With a variety of games, activities, a comfortable lounge and an entertainment room where you can 'trip the light fantastic', there's plenty to entertain.

Full Day: Durham (Included)

Today’s excursion takes us to the city of Durham, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here the magnificent cathedral, castle, medieval streets and riverside walks combine to make an unforgettable visit.

Half Day: Thornton-le-Dale (Included)

Jaunt across the North Yorkshire Moors to visit the pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale. A historic market town where you can admire a much photographed thatched cottage – one of a very few remaining in this area of Yorkshire.

North York Moors & Ryedale Folk Museum (Included)

Full Day excursion exploring the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors. We take the scenic route via Chop Gate to Helmsley, call at the Ryedale Folk Museum and continue via Blakey Ridge and Castleton before returning to Whitby.
