Discover the beautiful coastline of the Adriatic Riviera and uncover a hidden area of northern Italy. We’ll discover San Leo, listed as the ‘most beautiful village in Italy’, the elegant city of Ravenna and San Marino, one of the smallest republics in the world. Gabicce Mare is the eastern coast of Italy, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. This delightful town boasts an array of parks, shops, bars and restaurants, making it a perfect base to relax and explore. It is also home to popular sandy beaches for making the most of the Italian sun. We’ll enjoy a trip to picturesque San Marino and San Leo. San Marino is a country itself – the world’s fifth smallest! This landlocked micronation is home to the Citta di San Marino, a medieval settlement on the slopes of Monte Titano and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offers tremendous views. You’ll definitely want to remember your camera for this excursion, as San Leo is listed as the most beautiful village in Italy! We’ll also journey to the Le Marche region, where we’ll visit Fano and Urbino. The small hill-town of Urbino is a hidden gem of Italy, and is bursting with architecture and art. Fano has a historical town centre and a pebbly beach which makes for a pleasant afternoon stop. Enjoy an excursion to Ravenna, which is fondly known as the ‘city of mosaic art’ with a unique collection of early Christian mosaics and monuments. The eight buildings were all constructed in the 5th and 6th centuries and were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Be sure to visit these wonderful buildings of great artistic skill including the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Neonian Baptistery, the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, the Arian Baptistery, the Archiepiscopal Chapel, the Mausoleum of Theodoric, the Church of San Vitale and the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe.
