Day 1: Perth

Upon arrival in Perth, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you have time to explore the city. Tonight take a stroll down to the waterfront, delight in the ambience and enjoy a drink or meal in one of the many bars, cafes and restaurants. (Breakfast)

Day 2: Perth

Today begins with a ferry along the spectacular Swan River to Fremantle where we join our fascinating Indigenous walking tour. We will learn the history of the Wadjuk and Nyoongar people as well and visit Roundhouse Prison, Western Australia’s first public building, dating from 1831. We arrive back in Perth in the afternoon, where you’ll have free time to continue exploring this laid-back city. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3: Perth

Our last day in Perth includes a full day excursion to the marvelous Margaret River and the many sights along the way. First we visit Busselton Jetty, the longest jetty and wooden structure in the Southern Hemisphere, here you can visit an underwater observatory to see the variety of fish that populate this part of the Indian Ocean. Continuing to Yallingup you’ll enjoy the beautiful white sands and clear blue sea that the town is famous for. Get your taste buds ready as we visit one of this famous wine making region’s vineyards to enjoy a wine tasting, followed by a chocolate tasting with a chocolatier and lunch. We then visit Margaret River and explore this beautiful little town set in a scenic valley of the river the town is named after. On our way back to Perth, we’ll stop at the Yahava KoffeeWorks to sample coffees from around the world too. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4: Indian Pacific

This morning you will transfer to the train station, then board the classic Indian Pacific train before departure from East Perth Station. This evening make yourself comfortable in your well-appointed private cabin and watch the beautiful green countryside of the Avon Valley pass by. Then we have an excursion to the Wild West town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, home of the more than two- mile wide Super Pit gold mine. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Indian Pacific

The second day onboard starts at the edge of the seemingly endless Nullabor Plain, which stretches for miles over this area of Western Australia. After breakfast you will be able to get off the train and stretch your legs in the town of Cook, with a population of just four it is effectively a ghost town and a throwback to a time when many small outback towns dotted the railway line. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Indian Pacific

Next morning we arrive in South Australia, stopping in Adelaide, a beautifully designed city with a great range of bars and restaurants. Enjoy an included excursion by coach to the Adelaide Oval, Montefiore Hill and Haighs chocolate factory before taking in the great views from the Adelaide Hills. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: Arrive in Sydney

We wind our way through the magnificent Blue Mountains on our way to Sydney this morning. On arrival at the city we will transfer from the station to our hotel after which you have the evening at leisure. Take a walk to Hyde Park, and see pretty Archibald Fountain and take in the sights of Sydney. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 8: Sydney

The first full day in Sydney starts with a harbour cruise, where you’ll see the city’s famous sights from the water. We’ll pass under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to view the iconic Opera House. We cruise pass the Botanical Gardens to see Kirribilli and Admiralty House, official residences of Australia’s Prime Minister and Governor General as well as seeing the private harbour-side mansions of Sydney’s wealthy. In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner with a view at the Sydney Tower with uninterrupted panoramas of the city from its revolving restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 9: Sydney

Our second day starts with breakfast in the hotel before we travel to the harbourside to learn the history of this area known as The Rocks on the When Rum Ran the Rocks Tour. We’ll discover the oldest neighbourhood in Sydney as well as three of its unique pubs on the tour before enjoying free time in the afternoon afterwards. (Breakfast)
