Berlin, the capital of Germany, is one of Europe’s most fascinating cities. With magnificent architecture, interesting attractions and an amazing culture, there’s always lots to do here, and the city comes to life at Christmas time, with festive decorations, bright Christmas lights and superb Christmas markets.
We’ll make our way to Berlin during this wonderful coach holiday and will stay at the Mark Aparthotel, near to the Kurfurstendamm. This will prove to be a fantastic base for our excursions, where we can explore the stalls around the city, as well as taking a trip to nearby Dresden to enjoy the Christmas market there, too.
In addition to all of this, we’ll get to soak up the festive atmosphere as we explore Berlin and Dresden at leisure, and make the most of our exciting trip during the most wonderful time of the year.
The capital city of the Brandenburg state, this German city is filled with wonderful sights and is always interesting to visit. We’ll spend the day in Potsdam during an optional excursion and will be able to explore the city at leisure, discovering everything from its many museums, to landmarks such as the Sanssouci Palace, St. Nicholas' Church and Potsdam’s Brandenburg Gate.

Germany’s Christmas markets are known the world over, with many touring markets visiting our own shores during the winter months. However, nothing compares to an authentic German Christmas market, and where better to experience one than capital Berlin? The Christmas markets in Berlin are one of the highlights of the festive season, as the city is lit up with a blaze of Christmas lights. The city’s boulevards and squares are taken over with chalet-style huts selling all manner of goods, from delicious food to handmade trinkets. Berlin enjoys a mixture of atmospheres at Christmas, with traditional markets showcasing an authentic German Christmas market vibe, as well as trendy markets that allow you to get to grips with Berlin’s urban attitude.
Dresden Christmas Market is famous for being one of the oldest in Germany. Locally known as the ‘Striezelmarkt’, this Christmas market is a festive melting pot of amazing Christmas decorations and shopping opportunities. The entire city practically becomes one big Christmas market during this season, as markets are set up along its most famous streets, in its squares and along side-streets. There’s always something new to see here, with traditional German pottery, glassware, lace, handmade wooden figurines, clocks, engravings and everything in between on display in the markets’ huts.
Berlin is a fascinating city, and we’ll be able to take an optional guided tour of the city to find out more about its history. With help from an expert tour guide, we’ll travel past some of its most famous attractions, while learning all about how the city has changed over the years.
Day 1: UK to Holland
We’ll begin our holiday by travelling from the UK to Holland, where we’ll stop for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.
Day 2: Holland to Berlin
In the morning, we’ll continue our journey and will make our way to the Mark Aparthotel in Berlin, where we’ll stay for four nights. (Breakfast)
Day 3: Berlin
Enjoy a full day to discover Berlin with its many Christmas markets. There will also be an optional guided city tour to enjoy, and an optional excursion to see the famous Berlin Christmas lights. (Breakfast)
Day 4: Berlin
We’ll be able to choose between exploring Berlin at leisure today, or joining our exciting optional excursion to nearby Potsdam. This fantastic city is famous for its amazing architecture and is a delight to visit. (Breakfast)
Day 5: Berlin
Visit the wonderful Dresden Christmas Market and explore the numerous stalls and huts at leisure in this historical city. (Breakfast)
Day 6: Berlin to Belgium
Departing Berlin, we’ll travel to Belgium for our final overnight stay. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Belgium to UK
In the morning, we’ll set off on our return journey to the UK. Travelling via Calais, we’ll reach the UK and will then continue home. (Breakfast)
