Argentina and Brazil are two of the premier destinations in South America, both are famous for their rich cultures, wide variety of wildlife and stunning landscapes and we will enjoy the very best of both countries on this tour.

We visit both lively capital cities, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, with the opportunity to indulge in the local culture while there. In Buenos Aires join a Tango lesson and a traditional Argentine culinary experience where you will be able to try some world famous Argentinian Steak. In Rio de Janeiro we'll stay right on Copacabana Beach and visit Christ the Redeemer, which towers over the city before visiting the Sambadrome, home of one of the world's biggest parties, Rio Carnival!

Outside the cities we'll see amazing natural wonders including colossal Iguassu Falls, the world's largest waterfall system. While here expect to see a range of fantastic wildlife to complement the stunning views. In Argentina we get out onto the Pampas, where a huge variety of wildlife and an outback feel make for a unique experience. So join us to discover what these two incredible countries have to offer.

Buenos Aires

One of Latin America's largest cities is the perfect place for an urban adventure. The city is a mix of multiple cultures that have immigrated here over many years and the European influences of the city's initial settlers is clear to see. The district of La Boca is famous for two of Argentina's favourite pastimes, football at La Bombonera and the Tango which you will see people practising in parks and public spaces. The city has a great selection of food and wine, the city and country of Argentina is famous for its beef and it is something you should definitely try while here, sample it along with a fantastic local red that are ubiquitous in local eateries.

With its breathtaking landscape, laid back beach vibes and carnival culture, Rio de Janeiro is one of the world's most desirable tourist destinations. We will be staying right on Copacabana beach at the centre of the city's great nightlife and shopping. We will enjoy some of the city's most magnificent views, taking the cog train through magnificent Tijuca National Forest to Christ the Redeemer for fabulous views over the city.

Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to your hotel. The city has distinct neighbourhoods, many retaining a strong European influence with refined taste in cooking and luxury boutiques, and each have varied nightlife, traditions and cuisine, which we will have a chance to explore over the next few days. This afternoon we’ll explore one of the most glamourous of these districts, Palermo, which has beautiful parks, lakes and boutique shops and cafes. Spend this evening at leisure or choose to join an optional Argentinian culinary experience where you can sample some of the nation’s best foods. Including world famous Argentinian steak, Alfajores the national dessert and a chance to learn how to prepare mate, a caffeinated drink, which is a national pastime to get together and partake. You’ll also learn about the food culture of Argentina from the local guide running the experience.

Day 2: Buenos Aires

Today we’ll take a tour of Buenos Aires, starting with a drive along 9 de Julio Avenue, packed with famous sightseeing attractions along its course; we visit the Plaza de Mayo where you’ll see the city’s cathedral and the original Spanish City Hall. We’ll then visit Cafe Tortoni, which was established more than 160 years ago, here we’ll enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before continuing to the district of La Boca. The area is famous for the colours that line the streets and for being home to La Bombonera one of the most unique football stadiums in the world. This evening you’ll visit a tango house called La Ventana, a must in the city the dance was born! Opt for either a tango lesson or a wine tasting and afterwards enjoy dinner and a tango show. Day 3: Buenos Aires

Enjoy the day at leisure in Buenos Aires. Choose to join one of our optional tours which includes a trip to the Tigre and Delta of the Parana River, Tigre is a historic town which sits on an island in the middle of the delta. The delta itself has a number of scenic islands and you’ll be able to explore these on a boat excursion to see the beautiful vegetation that covers the area. Or choose a day in the pampa where you will explore on horseback, this will also include a barbecue accompanied by a traditional show. Or choose to visit the San Telmo Antique Fair where a huge array of different trinkets and treasures as well as music and drinks in the surrounding bars awaits. (Breakfast)

Day 4: Buenos Aires to Iguassu

This morning we fly to Iguassu. After transferring to the Argentinian side of these awe-inspiring waterfalls, we make a short stop at the Visitor’s Centre and proceed from there along the Inferior Circuit, the down-river falls, to the Superior Circuit, the up-river cascades. The Ecological Jungle Train leads you to the most impressive observation point of the falls – The Devil’s Throat. We then cross onto the Brazilian side for an overnight stay. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5: Iguassu Falls

Today we’ll visit the Brazilian side of the falls with a chance to walk the paths and catwalks around the bottom of Devil’s Throat, where you can experience magnificent views. (Breakfast)

Day 6: Iguassu to Rio de Janeiro

We fly to Rio de Janeiro and transfer to the hotel, where after check in you’ll have free time to  start exploring the area around the hotel, iconic Copacabana beach. (Breakfast)

Day 7: Rio de Janeiro

We board a cog-train to ride through Tijuca Forest to Corcovado Mountain, where you’ll enjoy beautiful views over Rio, its beaches and the lush green landscape that surrounds the city. Climbing up the stairs at the top of the mountain you’ll reach the world famous and iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. After descending the mountain, we’ll pass Rio’s famous beaches to board a cable car and ascend Sugar Loaf Mountain, which rises high out of the sea at Guanabara Bay. Finally, we visit Rio’s city centre including Candelaria Church and the Sambadrome, site of the famous carnival parade. Tonight join an optional tour to discover the city by night, including a folklore and carnival show featuring dancers, entertainers and samba bands in fabulous costume, exhibiting a wonderful display of Brazilian folklore and Carnival. Day 8: Transfer to Rio de Janeiro airport for flight home

Following breakfast and check out at the hotel, you’ll be transferred to the airport for the flight home. (Breakfast)
