Reflecting the Yorkshire landscapes, RHS Harlow Carr is ablaze with colourful herbaceous borders, pretty wildflower meadows and delightful woodland walks and on this tour we enjoy a guided tour of these wonderful gardens as well as a cream tea at the onsite Bettys Café Tea Rooms. We’ll also visit the historic city of York, the market town of Knaresborough and have free time to discover the delights of Harrogate from our centrally located hotel, the Country Living St George Harrogate, one of two Country Living hotels in the country.
The Country Living Hotel St George is a magnificent Georgian property at the heart of beautiful Harrogate.
The hotel has been designed in conjunction with the team at Country Living Magazine, the UK’s best-selling home interest magazine.
Rooms have been designed with relaxing surroundings, comfy sofas, cosy beds and stylish bathrooms to offer you total relaxation and an escape from the everyday. Country Living has worked with talented chefs to create delicious menus, using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, with some recipes inspired by features from the magazine.
Of course the hotel has retained the original features it is blessed with, such as the beautiful Georgian facade and high ceilings, all of which adds to fantastic styling of the Country Living Hotel St George.
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Harrogate, five minutes from Bettys tea rooms and the beautiful Valley Gardens on foot..
Head out of Harrogate and you can easily discover the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales which begin nearby, villages such as Malham and Grassington have a classic beauty and the rolling green hills in between are characteristic for their drystone walls and abundant livestock.
Fantastic cities are also in easy reach with cosmopolitan Leeds and historic York both great nearby options for a day trip.
Full day to glorious York, allowing ample time for sightseeing. Still surrounded by its ancient walls, history comes alive in its higgledy-piggledy streets and the magnificent minster, which towers over the whole city.
Full day excursion visiting the market town of Knaresborough, set high above the River Nidd before we continue on to RHS Harlow Carr Gardens. Evoking the surrounding landscapes with water features, dry stone walls and wooded areas we enjoy a guided tour taking in the colourful herbaceous borders, wildflower meadows and streamside walks as well as a cream tea at the onsite Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms.
