Tour Begins: 4:00 PM, Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Welcome to the Swiss Alps! A transfer is included from Zurich International Airport to Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Meet your Tauck Director and your fellow adventurers in the lobby of your grand hotel in the Old Quarter for a walking tour of Lucerne’s cobblestone streets, discovering the city's spires, covered bridges, fountains and more. Tonight, join us for a private Tauck Bridges welcome reception and dinner at the award-winning Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Under the project titled "Wo Luzern Geschichte(n) schreibt" (Where Lucerne writes history/stories), every guest room has been allocated a guest with a unique story. They include great personalities such as thinkers, artists, politicians, athletes, musicians and crowned heads as well as unknown guests, whose stories are part of the hotel's history.

Lucerne's famous Löwendenkmal (Lion Memorial) pays tribute to the Swiss Guards who gave their lives in defense of the French king centuries ago; after visiting this Swiss national monument, head out to Alpnachstad to ride the world's steepest cogwheel train up to the summit of Mount Pilatus. The mountain is a place of myth and legend; some say there be dragons living in the caves here... as well as the ghost of Roman governor Pontius Pilate! Later, descend via aerial cableway to Fraekmuentegg, where major fun awaits you at Switzerland's biggest rope park*, the country's longest summer toboggan run*, or a thrilling (but safe) giant tubing slide!* After riding a gondola to Kriens, head back to Lucerne to spend the evening as you please.

Later, join your local guide in old Innsbruck for a walking tour of this idyllic Alpine city, during which you just might "meet" old Emperor Max and his wives. Following a free afternoon, enjoy an after-hours private visit to Ötzi-Dorf, an open-air museum and archaeological site in the Oetzi Valley, interpreting village life during the time of "Oetzi" – the Neolithic Age of about 5,000 years ago. 5* Alpine Adventure
Best trip ever. Highly recommend this trip for any family with older kids. Everyone had an incredible time. Our tour guide was wonderful and helped to make it a truly memorable trip! Walking on a glacier and the enthusiasm and kindness of our tour guide!

2* Well, I WAS warned.
We knew that this was a "Bridges" tour and that there would be families and that there would be kids on the trip. We didn't expect that the trip's emphasis would be on activities FOR the children. Attractions for mature adults were rare which resulted in a lot wasted, idle time. The tour Director became a babysitter to keep the kids in control. The cog-wheel train up Mt. Pilatus, the time (not enough) at the top and the cable car and gondola trip down the other side. The most unpleasant memorable event: When the Tour director gave the bus microphone to the extremely loud children.

3* Good, But Not Up to Tauck Standards
Hot! Hot! Hot! Most days in the mid 80s to over 90 and only one air conditioned night! We were ready for lots of sun and heat during the day and the typical inadequate European hotel A/C, but we didn't anticipate the misery & lack of sleep from hot non-A/C rooms at night. All were surprised & disappointed that Tauck didn't warn us. The view of the Alps from Mt. Pilatus was amazing, the walk to the Morteratsch Glacier was fantastic, and the tour of the Innsbruck Bergisel ski jump, even to the very top where only the jumpers go, was great. All hotels except the Bayeriscer Hof had lovely staff. It's unfortunate that the nighttime heat marred the whole experience for so many.

3* Alpine Adventure
First trip with Tauck. Our trip had some poor weather and felt there could have been some better back up plans to deal with weather issues. Many things were good, but when problems arose, optional plans were not given. Felt like we wasted time and money. Thought the guide could offer more "time on your own" options, especially at St. Moritz. The kids enjoyed the exciting summer toboggan run. We were able to to it only twice; it took 45-60 minutes per run (waiting in line).

4* Alpine good times!!
A wonderful outdoors nature experience with my extended family! The staff was SUPER and the sights lovely. A bit too much time on the bus one day (I think they will change this next year) but otherwise a really nice trip We loved the day at the glacier! The hike was scenic and our fondue lunch and cheese making was great
