5* Wonderful trip to California
California is a beautiful state. This tour allows you to see lovely coastal areas, miles of rich agriculture, wine country, and of course breathtaking Yosemite Park. From the beaches, cities, museums, zoo, aquarium, vineyard and mountain vistas--there is something for everyone. Absolutely first class hotels and dining. Top three: amazing coastline/beach vistas, impressive Getty museum, and stunning views at Yosemite. Pictures cannot capture the beauty.

5* California Gold Coast May 2017
Memorable trip with our tour director. Great itinerary. Wonderful hotels. Very good meals. We met great people. Great weather. Yosemite National Park.

2* California's Gold Coast
If you are an experienced traveler, this is NOT the trip for you. Too much bus time; too much time spent wandering aimlessly in rundown towns; too little time spent at important sites. This was my third Tauck trip, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the hotels were very nice. The day spent at Yosemite.

4* San Diego to San Francisco WITHOUT Yosemite due to fires!!
Our trip was GREAT. Our guide and our Bus driver were FABULOUS. We saw awesome sites and stayed in wonderful accommodations. BUT......having a family of 11 INCLUDING SEVEN TEENAGERS on our tour was NOT what we expected from a Tauck Tour! The teens seemed bored most of the time! We'll ask about included children before our next trip. Too many to list! It was a GREAT trip except for above comment!

4* One of the best Tauck Trips Ever
We wanted to see the Panama Canal and decided on the Tauck Small Ship cruise starting in Panama City and ending in San Jose, Costa Rica. One of the best hotels we ever stayed in to start the trip in Panama City. Also, possibly the best tour director out of the previous 12 Tauck Tours. He did a great job. The local guides were spectacular. Zip lining in the rain forest of Costa Rica was exciting. The ship, The Sea Breeze of the Windstar Line, had excellent food and tremendous service. We had some issues with our cabin, and with the help of our Tour Director, the problems were resolved without incident. Small ship cruising is the way to go!

5* Panama Canal and Costa Rica
It was wonderful! I went with my (twin) sisters and everyone had a good time. We arrived a day early in Panama City and had a very nice hotel room. The hotel staff and our tour director were very helpful and recommended some sights to see. The ship was very nice and the accommodations were excellent. We each had a bed! The food was excellent! I went on the zip line! (I am 79!)

3* Panama Canal is great
We took the West Bound Panama Canal trip. We liked the trip, but there were too many filler days and most of us would have preferred a trip of a shorter duration. Going through the canal itself and all the information about the canal and how it was built.

4* Wonderful California
We were on the California Gold Coast tour in May, the trip couldn't have been better. Our tour director was wonderful, very knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. We saw wonderful sights. Our first event was the San Diego harbor evening cruise, it was great. Yosemite and the Getty Museum were special. The winery tour & tasting was nice too. Seeing Yosemite. We drove in as snow was falling. The waterfalls were beautiful. Seeing El Capitan and the other massive rock formations was awesome. Being by the Yosemite River and looking around the valley was inspiring. Also seeing the redwoods and walking around the forest was spectacular.

5* California's Gold
From San Diego to San Francisco, we visited so many beautiful and interesting places, but always at a comfortable pace. Our tour director, Cindy, a Californian native, kept us well informed while entertaining us as well. High Points? Giraffe encounter at the San Diego Zoo, a Rodeo Drive walk, Carmel-by the Sea, and Majestic Yosemite. What a tour! While eating breakfast in the hotel restaurant in Monterey, right out our window we could see sea otters playing in the kelp beds. What utterly charming creatures, and we had a front row seat!

4* Gold Coast Adventure
This is our 3rd Tauck trip and just like the others, was wonderful. We had traveled to California years ago but it was so much better doing it the "Tauck" way. Our Tauck Director was so knowledgeable, confident, very patient with the older travelers, and best of all was fun!! The continuation of my Tauck friendship with a fellow Tauck traveler! We met in Ireland and had so much fun she asked where to next. We were going to France for our 50th and she came with us. There was no hesitation on her part when we made plans for this tour. Now we are discussing our next trip Glacier point was my favorite place on this trip.

4* California's Gold Coast
We travelled from the UK to the US for our son's wedding and added the TAUCK trip as an adventure to follow the wedding. We are glad we added the trip and delighted that we chose TAUCK. TAUCK, think of everything from pick up at San Diego to departure at San Francisco. We stayed in First class hotels and visited superb locations. We were treated to seeing the Pandas at San Diego Zoo and to envying those playing golf at Pebble Beach then touring Yosemite. The trip exceeded expectations. It would only have been bettered had I been allowed to play golf at Pebble Beach. But one of the most memorable moments was eating breakfast at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara

3* Panama Canal and Costa Rica
This is our 11th trip with Tauck and certainly will not be the last. However, this trip was not up to Tauck's usual standards. The hotel in Panama, the Hilton, was disappointing. There was no snorkeling at Isla Parida, as advertised. The morning walk in Punta Marenco was a boring lecture on the local environment with no fauna sightings. There were 3 memorable events. The Canal crossing, the canal boat cruise in the Gamboa Rainforest, and the rapids river float. The Windstar Star Breeze experience was wonderful, largely due to the extraordinary shipboard staff and their efforts to make our stay a memorable experience.

4* California Gold Coast
We had a wonderful time and will be going on our next Tauck in September. It was so nice that my husband didn't have to drive and could enjoy seeing the sights along the way. The trip was well organized which took the stress out of me! We think that a day should be added on the end so we could visit Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf, not on our own. We saw so many things that there is no way to pick just one. Loved Hearst Castle, the ocean, waterfalls in Yosemite!

4* Very good but adjustments required..
Very good overview of the coast. Super Tour director and coach driver. Except for the beautiful Getty Museum, nothing interesting in LA, I would skip the city tour. Yosemite: give 1 more day ; unfortunately, we did not get to the falls! Also, since it was the highlight of the trip, I would have appreciate a visit within smaller groups. Santa Barbara, 17 miles drive. Getty museum in LA ( not enough time, need 2-3 hrs more). Hearst Castle. Hotels: Magnificient spanish style 4 Seasons Biltmore and The Langham. Yosemite ( although we did not get the best hotel...we were expecting the Ahwahnee) Monterey and beautiful aquarium and hotel Intercontinental Clement.

5* Amazing trip!
This was our first trip with Tauck and we were blown away by the accommodations and cuisine, not to mention the sites we visited. Tauck took care of every little detail and the guides and local experts at every stop were superb. A little more quiet time would have improved the trip; we didn't need a constant monologue as we traveled. Seeing the Yosemite Valley from Glacier Point was spectacular and the Biltmore at Santa Barbara was truly luxurious.

5* California Dreaming
This was our first trip with Tauck. It spoiled us for any other tour companies. Everything was first class - the hotels, the meals, places we visited. We learned so many things about California that we didn't know. Yosemite was a pleasant surprise and Carmel was wonderful. Our tour director and bus driver were like good friends. Having dinner at our 7th Diners, Drive-ins and Dives restaurant in Monterey. What a treat. Walking around the town of Carmel was also memorable.

3* Westbound Panama Canal Jan. 27
This was my first trip with Tauck. I have previously travelled with National Geographic, VBT, and Vantage. Our tour leader, the ship, and the canal also great. Most of the "rainforest" visits were disappointing except La Paz. The Manuel Antonio visit walking along a gravel road with power lines overhead and dozens of tourists in sight was bad. Canal transit La Paz Doka coffee plantation Sarchi Ox cart factory

4* California's Gold Coast
Overall, trip was enjoyable and informative. Disappointments: >rushed tour at Hearst Castle, should have had tour at Getty Museum >no time to enjoy luxury hotels--arrive with barely enough time to freshen up for dinner, and off touring in early a.m. >no tour in San Francisco (we extended) >2 main meals per day is too much--lunch OR dinner Although we were happy to see some of beautiful Yosemite, the time spent on the bus to get to/from there was too much. Remove from this tour; add more to other areas.

5* California Gold Coast
The trip was more than expected with unexpected sights along with educational knowledge by our Tour Director. We stopped at so many points of interest for glorious camera shots of things we never new existed. Tauck once again outdid themselves with giving us the best experience. Comfort? The best provisions were provided along with dining. There were many like otters, elephant seals, etc., but the stop at the Last Cypress was so peaceful you didn't want to leave. Of course the mountains, anywhere, are always a moving experience.

5* Great trip to Panama and Costo Rica
We had a great experience as always, when traveling with Tauck. Our tour director didn't miss a beat. All was well organized and the trip was well balanced between lectures, excursions, and downtime, while giving a good feel for the countries visited. Transportation throughout the trip was comfortable and the drivers and local guides were great. Going through the Panama Canal was the highlight of the trip for us. The white river rafting was also a great option.

This was our first Tauck trip and first visit to America, from the moment we landed at San Diego to the day we left at San Francisco we were treated fantastic well. We loved staying at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara and visiting the mission and the court house, the whole tour was a very memorable one for us and have made great friends on the tour.

4* California Gold Coast CA15
Don and I enjoyed the tour for the most part. We had an excellent Tour Director and Driver. We loved the hotels. My only negative was at Yosemite. Would have preferred cash for lunch at the Yosemite cafeteria on day 10 over the early rise to go pick up our box lunch and the walk to and from bus to eat. Glacier Point at Yosemite. Also loved the Santa Barbara hotel. The Monterey aquarium was also very good.

2* Disappointed...but memorable
Weren't told Big Sur was impassable at booking. Director said we shoulda been. Some were offered extra days or discounts. We weren't Too much 'free' time'. Too much emphasis on 'shopping' & 'drinking'. Too much time in Santa Barbara; no time in San Fran. Cliffs Resort & rest: Horrible! Many had 2-3 suitcases each. We were told 1 a piece. The vistas of Yosemite. Everyone should experience it. The Four Seasons at Beverly Hills: The floral displays were incredible and the personnel there were the finest we have ever encountered.

Overall, the trip was excellent and I would recommend it highly. We saw some beautiful sights along the Big Sur and enjoyed our visits to the Getty Museum and Hearst Castle. CA is a beautiful state and our Tour Director and driver showed us just how beautiful. Our Tour Director provided a bit of history with all the beautiful scenery. I would have to say it was the drive along CA Hwy 1 in the Big Sur area. We stopped at Ragged Point which had beautiful views, a beautiful garden, etc. The color of the water, the crashing waves against the rocks, the flowers blooming made for an unforgettable experience.

4* Golden Trip
Very nice trip. The pace was fast, the hotels were great, our tour guide and our driver were outstanding. Yosemite is majestic. We would have loved to have more time in San Francisco and less time in L.A. We were told the trip has been changed in the past 2 years; it used to start in San Francisco. We would have preferred that version. Yosemite tours.

Upon our arrival at the San Diego Airport there was no one from Tauck or the transfer service to greet us, we ended up taking a taxi. Our hotel, The U S Grant had homeless people sleeping on the side walk around it. From our room we witnessed a six car Police Response and Takedown of two people from the hotel across the street. Breakfast in the patio restaurant of the Santa Barbara Biltmore surrounded with flowering greenery over looking the beach and Pacific Ocean. Yosemite was great! Spending Saturday night at The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills was fun, Great cars and celebrities! Having a room on San Francisco overlooking the bay, Coit Tower, and Golden Gate.

The hotels all up and more to Tauck standards except the Inn at Moro Bay. Below average in rooms and service. Tour Dir. Excellent. Meeting new people always + The CA Coastal scenery.
