5* Wonderful Trip
Having taken many ocean cruises we weren't sure what to expect on this, our first River Cruise and our first trip with Tauck. We couldn't have been happier. The trip exceeded all of our expectations. The scenery was great and the entire staff was wonderful. The ship "Grace" was beautiful and our room was delightful. We'll be back to Tauck! The frequent little extras from Tauck, on the ship and on excursions. We were constantly being pleasantly surprised.

4* Choices
Excellent tours in the cities and towns we visited, but onboard food choices and entertainment were limited as compared to big cruise ships...very subdued atmosphere. All of the crew members were wonderful. Visiting Baden-Baden

4* Rhine and Moselle River Cruise
My husband and I took the Rhine and Moselle River Cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We had a loft cabin and liked it very much. We found the stops to be just what we wanted to see, especially Baden Baden and Luxembourg. We enjoyed the castles and the guided city tours. We attended Mass in both Cologne and Strasbourg. Both cathedrals have magnificent organs and we were treated to free concerts. The is especially true in Strasbourg where the organist played 20th Century music. Wonderful, especially for musicians.

5* Rhine River Cruise: Amsterdam to Basel
5 Star all the way beginning with our free night at Sofitel Hotel Le Grand in Amsterdam, to our Welcome Drink on MS Grace to our morning departure in Basel Switzerland. Directors and ship's staff were terrific. Food good, free drinks exemplary, off ship tours very interesting with excellent local guides. Walking tours stimulating, if demanding. Our three days in Moselle River Valley where we experienced an untouched Germany.

5* Excellent Cruise Experience
Rhine/Moselle River Cruise was great. The tour directors were informative and knowledgable about the area and its history and were able to share this whenever asked. The cruise was well organized The wait staff was well trained, friendly, efficient, and enjoyable. The rest of the ship's crew seemed to be busy all of the time and was also friendly. The off ship excursions were educational. Most of the guides were informative and easy to keep up with and follow. Not one most memorable moment - enjoyed dinners, ship entertainment, education, and history. This was an excellent cruise for us.

5* Cruising on the Rhine
I enjoyed the people I met, the entire crew, the food and , of course, all the beauty along the Rhine and Moselle. One afternoon we sat on the upper deck as the ship moved down the river. The scenes were exquisite, it was comfortable. The weather was perfect. The company was great. It was truly "river cruising"!

4* First River Cruise - Tauck does it right.
From the minute we were picked up at in a Mercedes sedan, to the private dinner at a beautiful castle somewhere in Germany, we loved our first experience at river cruising. Our tour directors were great. The food, service, and accommidations were top notch. Tauck lived up to our high expectations. The private dinner at the castle was very cool and unexpected. The wine tasting on the Mosselle was fun and different. But our best moment was spending the day on the sun deck watching castle after castle go by, so enthralled that we missed dinner. But not to worry, the staff delivered wine and cheese to us in our stateroom. The perfect day.

5* The Rhine Amsterdam to Basel 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip, only rained one day. The crew was awesome. Food was great and different. Local guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Drivers of coaches were safe and great at bending the coaches around the tight corners. Would go again on Tauck anywhere. Five stars for sure. We saw lots of castles/cathedrals. But for us, the museum in Spryer was the bomb. Cars, motorcycles, submarines, airplanes, trains, etc. Should be promoted more IMO.

5* Rhine river cruise
I went on the trip with my sister and our adult boys (cousins). They were not the youngest on the trip (one passenger was 26 - with his parents). Even with the age difference, we all had an amazing time. The ship MS Inspire was new and comfortable. The Moselle especially was fairy tale scenery. All the little special touches were all memorable. Loved the crew show night.

5* Rhine & Moselle Riverboat Cruise
This was just a spectacular trip. We started a day early in Amsterdam and walked all over this "Venice of the North". Next day we started the touring with great Tauck directors. The Tauck Directors were just fantastic as they exceeded any expectation for our excursions from there to Basel. The crew of the MS Inspire were equally wonderful. How could anyone pick just one moment? Amsterdam, such a unique city to explore, but the scenery along the Rhine & Moselle Rivers is without equal. And don't forget the castles, the fortresses, the quaint houses and town plazas. The local tour guides with their stories and history lessons should not be overlooked!

4* Rhine River Cruise
Planning with Tauck was excellent -- reservations, scheduling, being met. The cruise ship was comfortable, and the food was excellent. We visited many cities and a few castles, and learned a lot of their medieval history. The steep vineyard hillsides along the Moselle were enchanting. There was not as much daytime scenic cruising as expected. Bicycling through the Moselle vineyards.

4* Impressed with fellow travelers
The trip was wonderful and very well done. Liked everything about it, but what we found most impressive was how many repeat Tauck customers were on the trip, and how many Tauck vacations most of them have taken. Tauck has to be doing an incredible job year-in-and-year-out on several continents to keep so many people that happy. There was not just one. The weather was incredible (can't credit Tauck with that can we?) and the local expert guides were uniformly excellent.

5* Rhine
This was my first Riverboat Cruise and have nothing negative to say. It was wonderful and have booked the Danube trip before we got home. Not sure what to say, the entire staff was wonderful, food was great and the excursions were great. My room was perfect size and comfortable.
Added By:

3* A Trip Too Far
This was our third Tauck trip and for the first time we were disappointed. The bus rides from ship to many of the destinations are intolerably long...throw in a traffic jam and they become miserable. The last site was the Rhine Falls, a five hour roundtrip bus ride. Over 80 people decided not to go. I cannot recommend this tour. As always, the Tauck staff make you feel special.

4* Rhine River Cruise: Amsterdam to Basel, with Moselle sidetrip
As usual, the Tauck river cruise was excellent. The Tauck tour directors were uniformly friendly, well-informed, and extremely interested in each traveler having a wonderful time. Also, the boat and crew were particularly memorable as to quality of food, service, and courtesy on the part of the crew, and the superb conditions on the MS GRACE. The side trip to the Moselle Valley with the beautiful vineyards and quaint cities and villages was the highlight of the trip. I also particularly enjoyed Baden-Baden and Strasbourg.

5* A first time River cruise that was exceptional
The sights from the Inspire and on land during this delightful cruise surpassed my expectations. I thought all of the excursions were very well planned and our cruise directors did an exceptionally good job of giving us background information on each place visited. All locations were interesting and beautiful. The staff were all excellent. Our tour of Baden Baden. I never expected such an incredibly spectacular city. My total experience was wonderful and I plan to be back on a Tauck tour again.

5* rhine and moselle river cruise
IT WAS MORE THAN I EXPECTED. ALL THE ADDITIONAL LITTLE DAILY PERKS AND THE STAFF GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PLEASE YOU IN EVERY WAY. TOTALLY WONDERFUL! LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING RIVER CRUISES AGAIN WITH TAUCK IN FRANCE OR HOLLAND/BELGIUM TOO MANY TO MENTION. REICHSBURG CASTLE; BERNKASTLE; COLOGNE; BASEL; STRASBURG; BOPPARD; BADDEN=BADDEN. BASICALLY EVERYTHING WAS MEMORABLE.

5* Exquisite trip
The Rhine and Moselle in Fall. Could hardly have been a more beautiful time to be on the river. Even on gray days the sights were terrific and sometimes truly breathtaking. And then there was the boat: Grace. Elegant, well-appointed, almost spacious in its total dimensions. A well trained and responsive crew, outstanding food, and luxury. Far too many to mention. Basic comment: we have done a number of land rips with Tauck over the years and many riverboat trips with other vendors, but this one sets the standard which will be hard for any other to beat.

5* Rhine and Moselle River Cruise
This was our very first river cruise, and we chose to do it with Tauck. What a WONDERFUL experience. The ship, the scenery, the Tauck Directors, the food, and the "extra goodies" that Tauck does surpassed our expectations. We could not have asked for a better cruise and with such wonderful people. This was our 16th trip with Tauck. Bernkastel and Boppard. Great little towns with fabulous architecture.

4* The Rhine and Moselle
We just love Tauck's riverboat cruises! This was our third and hopefully, not our last. The cruise director was great, as were the tour directors. Interestingly, we noticed an emphasis this year on guest choice which seemed new (going on the excursions or relaxing on the boat). The food was delicious. Well done We really enjoyed the special dinner at Berg Schwartzenstein! Lovely views and great food.

4* With Tauck on the Rhine
Tauck was more expensive than some other river cruise lines but it was well worth it. I was not nickle and dimed to death at every turn as most do. The ship was clean. My single room was the same price as for couples. It was a fine trip up the Rhine and Mosel. I would like to thank three employees, Bara, Sintia and Michael, for their fine service. The Falls of the Rhine.

4* Lovely Cruise
We had never been on a river cruise before so were happy that our expectations were met so nicely with this Tauck tour. We have traveled with Tauck before so we were pretty confident it would be great. The itinerary has many special stops where you can decide how much of an active day you are looking for. The service was excellent. Not sure I can pick one but I would encourage travelers to prepare for all kinds of weather. Beginning and ending were quite cool but the middle part was very hot and the AC is not like in the states. I like to dress for dinner but most of the guests did not. Castle dinner is not at all glamorous - no AC in old cow stable! But it was fun.

5* Another great experience with Tauck
We just completed a cruise of Rhine and Moselle - and we found the ship and its crew to be everything we hoped ... and more. What a great time! The food was outstanding (and the wine!) and the trip was scenic and trouble-free. We found a most congenial set of new friends among our fellow participants. It was all memorable, but perhaps the most outstanding aspect was the cathedral at Strasbourg.

4* Just a GREAT trip
We traveled the Rhine and Moselle in late 2016. It was a great trip. Tauck really knows how to travel - food, accomodations, staff, tours, tour guides, and guests - from start to finish it was top notch. You get on the boat in Amsterdam and everything is taken care of, an effortless vacation where all you have to do is enjoy. Almost being left behind from trying to find cold medicine on a Sunday and another guest refusing to leave the door till I was back onboard.

4* Neither rain nor cold deters a Tauck tour
Great land and water accommodations. Weather was terrible. Great food and drink. Cities visited were interesting but a number of key cities were visited when everything was closed. Tauck staff is first class. MS Grace crew did a fantastic job. With only 125 passengers the ship never felt crowded. Well orchestrated tours overseen by cruise director. Sailing down the Moselle with beautiful vineyards on both sides.

4* Another great Tauck trip
This was our second river cruise with Tauck and it was another great experience. The Moselle River valley is especially scenic and that was our favorite part of this cruise. Unlike the Danube, where the boat docks right next to most all of the towns, this cruise requires some long bus trips to get to many of the destinations. Moselle River valley, Reichsburg Castle

5* Amsterdam to Basel Switzerland
This was our 2nd trip with Tauck and it was awesome. The attention to detail was the best. The food, excursions, crew, on board entertainment, guides, everything was great. The only thing that could have been better was being picked up at the Airport. Took a while to find the driver and our contact was all over the airport looking for folks. It's hard to pin down one moment. I believe it was at the American Cemetery, where General Patton is buried. Tauck had a wreath and all American Veterans gathered around it as Taps were played. Very moving. Looking forward to the next trip.

5* Tauck Treats You Like Royalty
From start to finish Tauck made me feel special in every way. They quickly learned my name and my personality and seemed to cater to my every wish, from the tour guides, to wait staff, to room service employees to bartenders, to reception, etc. Tauck does not nickel and dime you to death. Once you've paid up front, they take care of everything. 5* Inspire and crew are an Inspiration!
We sailed up the Rhine and Mosel Rivers in late Fall with beautiful autumn leaves weloming us along the river. The Inspire is a beautiful vessel with lovely accommodations. Courteous and attentive, the entire crew was superb. Our meals were excellent and served in a gracious, attractive manner. The sommelier paired the wine to the meal. Excellent! Our most memorable moment was taking the chair lift up to see a beautiful view of the Rhine River and valley.

5* Our Rhine and Moselle Adventure
This river cruise met all of our expectations: accommodations were 1st class, the ship's food was terrific, the crew was outstanding and the daily excursions were varied and interesting. The Tauck tour directors handled all the details efficiently. If we had to deviate from the planned agenda for any reason it was done seamlessly! Kudos! Our most memorable moment was cruising on the Moselle and seeing the vast number of vineyards all the way up the hillsides. We gained a greater appreciation for the workers who harvest the grapes seeing the slope on those hills.

Scylla crew was fantastic; great food on board; cruise and tour directors were knowledgeable & caring; just didn't hit the very high bar Tauck had set on my prior cruises. Docked away from towns visited - lots of time on a motor coach; very slow relaxing pace; the ms Grace was beautiful. No real "wow" moments I've come to expect from Tauck The wine tasting in Senheim; the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial. 4* Rhine and Moselle cruise
I had a great time on this trip. Apparently a lot of people had cancelled due to the terrorist attacks in Belgium, so we had lots of elbow room on the MS Inspire, and lots of personalized service. The ship is beautiful, and very comfortable. The crew worked hard to keep all of us happy. It was good to see them all working together so cheerfully. I had planned to visit the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and was disappointed to learn that I should have made a reservation three to four months in advance of my trip. It would be helpful for Tauck to mention this to people taking a trip through Amsterdam.

5* Not a negative comment to make!
The trip was amazing. The ship was beautiful, food was great, staff was great, sites were gorgeous. Didn't have to worry about a thing for 12 days. Even the disembarkation process was pleasant and handled so efficiently. Also loved the all Inclusive policy. Sailing down the middle Rhine sitting atop the ship and taking in all the castles and vineyards.

5* Exceeded All Expectations!
Having been on 7 previous Tauck Tours but this being our first ever river cruise to make #8, I must say I am glad we once again chose Tauck. This trip was right up there with our #1 favorite Truck Tour in 2002 (The Alps) and we certainly will being doing more river cruises with Truck. A Winner. Staff - Wonderful, Tour Directors - The Best I cannot pinpoint a most memorable moment because I have too many. Met wonderful new friends. The ship is beautiful. The food, 5 star (amazing Fenna). The wines, wonderful. The itineraries were perfect with terrific local guides. Local music was welcome on board. We highly recommend Truck to our friends & family.

5* The Rhine and Moselle
From Amsterdam to Basel, my trip could not have gone smoother including wonderful weather. I cannot say enough about the care and concern that all the staff and tour guides provided. It was amazing especially as my husband became sick two weeks before the trip and was unable to come with me. It was a trip of a lifetime for me. I can't zero in on a most memorable moment because I enjoyed all of it, especially the castles, cathedrals, architecture and the wonderful company aboard the MS Grace

5* It Doesn't Get Better Than This
Though Rhine and Moselle Southbound was our first Tauck trip, it certainly isn't going to be our last. We saw Picasso's and Van Gogh's; we left a rose at the American Cemetery; we visited Roman Ruins; we tasted wine at a family-owned winery. The trip was art, history, architecture, and culinary delight rolled into one. Our most memorable moment was sipping wine on the sun deck with our new friends as we floated down the Moselle, rather than fretting over tips and added expenses.

4* Rhine & Moselle
We were on the Southbound Rhine & Moselle river cruise. Our first River cruise. We LOVED it . It was also our first Tauck experience . We've traveled a lot but first time that everything was really done for us totally. Ship was lovely ..rooms were Fantastic. Staff was truly a joy and they provided excellent service !!!!! Again Excellent !!!!!! Really can't say on one memorable moment. There were so many ..scenery, towns, tours, interesting places, and then just be onboard itself and watching the towns, castles, vineyards go by as we cruised was relaxing and lovely.

4* Twelve Days to "Treasure"
Our first river cruise--what a wonderful adventure! We boarded the MS Inspire in Amsterdam, unpacked and turned the next 12 days over to the ships's staff. From the Captain to the cabin cleaning crew everyone exhibited true professionalism performing their assignments. When we elect to cruise again, no one but Tauck will be considered. Watching the wine festival parade in Cochem.

5* Exceeded expectations!
From the moment we arrived at the Airport in Amsterdam to our departure, every aspect of this trip was expertly coordinated by Tauck. I can’t say enough about the employees including the tour directors, wait staff, cabin stewards even deck hands do everything they can to ensure a wonderful experience. I’ve already booked my next Tauck adventure. I loved every minute cruising the Moselle river. It was beautiful and very relaxing.

5* 5***** Rhine River
The MS Grace is really a mobile 5-star hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the constantly changing menu, fresh local ingredients daily. The service staff throughout the ship have clearly been trained to the highest standards; we have been fortunate enough to have stayed in many 4 & 5 Star hotels over the years, and this is the equal of any. The cruise through the Upper Middle Rhine, with castles around every turn, and intriguing commentary by one of our tour guides.

5* What would you change?
After we returned from our trip a friend said "No matter how perfect a trip is there is always one thing you would like to change about the trip. What would that change be?" And I replied, "Absolutely nothing! It was perfect in every way!" It is hard to choose just one. Dining in the castle was exciting! Having a German lunch in a German restaurant was really fun. Gliding along the Moselle River and viewing about 15 castles in the period of about 3 hours was amazing!

5* Excellent Work by Directors and Wine Steward
The food was just as good as the excellent dining we had last year on "Taste of France" tour and the wine was better. The scenery on both rivers is very good and the pace was well managed. We had considerable freedom on when to return to the boat. The three directors did an excellent job of managing the city tours. The variety of tours was good. Cruising the Moselle River Valley was a highlight as well as the visit to Strasbourg. When you turn down the street and see the cathedral, it is a deeply moving religious experience.

5* Grand Time on the Rhine and Moselle
We had a glorious time on our most recent cruise. Everything was well organized, stress free, and first rate. The cabins and services were very comfortable. The planned tours, events, stops, and activities were well thought out and the staff was able to accommodate last minutes changes without missing a step. A grand time was had by all! We greatly appreciated how quickly the staff/crew made us feel like we were at home. We established a wonderful camaraderie with many of them which does not frequently happen when on vacation. Though the cruise and activities were wonderfully memorable, the people made it all happen-Bara/Katalyn/Fenna/Sonja/Mery/Dominika/Roland/Milos/Lina/Fanny

5* RIVER CRUISE
High quality service and tour. I am a convert. When I have a plan I will first look to see if Tauck offers a tour. Pricing is very reasonable for the product they provide. Heidelberg.

5* See you on the Great Lakes in 2019!
This was our second Rhine River cruise with Tauck, after Budapest to Amsterdam four years ago. Could the Rhine and Moselle be as memorable? We wondered as we rather spontaneously booked 6-weeks from sailing. Self-catering travelers mostly, guided tours are a treat to ourselves. So, thank you, Tauck, our Directors, local guides and Scylla crew!! How could there be only one most memorable moment? ....tulips in Amsterdam, visiting a houseboat on a canal, Dusseldorf at night, Andreas' winery in Cochem, wreath laying at the Luxemboug American Cemetery and Memorial, passing another Tauck cruise on the Moselle, riding the sesselbahn in Boppard, seeing the Rhine castles again, and Strasbourg.

5* Our first river cruise, it won’t be our last??
A wonderful experience. From the beautiful Consortium Hotel in Amsterdam we moved to MS Grace for a delightful cruise. Everything on Grace was exceptional, the tour guides on board were wonderful, the local guides were knowledgeable, back onboard every meal at either Compass or Arthur’s was wonderful....... Sitting on deck with a glass of wine as we watched Germany on one side and France on the other. Incredible sunrises and sunsets on the Rhine and the Moselle.

3* A Mixed Review of Tauck
Rhine/Moselle river cruise. The sights on the trip were interesting but not "exciting". Tauck did a great job in the reservation process, providing us air reservations, pick-ups etc. The boat's hotel manager and chef were outstanding. Disappointed by the Tauck tour directors. They were aloof and disengaged and did not enhance the experience. Enjoyed Baden-Baden and Strasbourg.

4* love the river cruises!
We love river cruising with Tauck They make seeing the tiny towns easy and interesting and take all the worries out of travel. We had unusually hot weather but nearly no rain. The Moselle is beautiful and much different from the Rhine, together, they were terrific. Loved it being 12 days with no packing/unpacking! The suites are terrific! Both visiting a houseboat in Amsterdam AND the American Cemetery and Memorial in Luxembourg. They did a very special ceremony there for us and it was much appreciated. A side note: There were some serious health problems from some of the guests on this cruise and the Tauck staff went above and beyond to help.

5* The Tauck Experience
Wow, Tauck thought of almost everything that would give us a great trip. We really enjoyed every day visiting and travelling aboard the ship. The Rhine trip wouldn't be nearly as good without visiting the Moselle. The people on board from the gal cleaning our room to the bartender were all the most friendly and helpful as we've ever experienced. Trier was awesome. Liked the chairlift and the walk through the woods (even though there was a paved path nearby) ha! Amazed my wife did that.

5* Unbelieveable
This is the first Tauck tour that we have ever taken. We have been with two other tour/cruise companies and Tauck is so much better. The quality of the accommodations was first class. The guides where outstanding. The cruise directors were incredibly responsive. The food was wonderful. And there was no additional hidden costs. A great experience. For me it was a visit to the Ardennes. The sight of over 5,000 crosses and Stars of David marking the graves of fallen soldiers was overwhelming. Secondly the people on the tour were fabulous. Visits to Heidelberg, Starburg, Luxembourg, and Basel were memorable.
