Time to enjoy an interlude of Alpine magic... by definition, an interlude means a short play or dramatic entertainment, a musical composition inserted between the parts of a longer composition or an intermission or pause... all of which apply in some form to our delightful respite in the alpine countries of Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria... Journey through some of the most inspiring scenery on earth, and climb to mountain summits via aerial cable car for sweeping panoramas of alpine splendor. Explore the exciting cities of Munich, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Lucerne, and colorful Alpine villages and towns like Bolzano, Cortina d'Ampezzo and Oberammergau – where, in 2022, you'll experience, live and in person, the pageantry of the famous Oberammergau Passion Play, only performed in the first year of each decade. Savor a real taste of the Alps at a Swiss cheese-making demonstration, lunch with a tour and schnapps tasting at a 400-year-old farm, dinner in Berchtesgaden's salt mines, lunch in the Dolomites and meeting a noted Italian mountain climber, a "tasting" cruise on beautiful Lake Tegernsee, and an adventure at the summit of Mt. Titlis in the Swiss Alps. Your spirits will soar as high as the mountains as you discover the Alps...

5* Ultimate Alps and Dolomites
Fabulous trip, excellent itinerary. We took our 3 teenage grand children and their parents on this trip of a lifetime and all of us enjoyed every day to the fullest. Our tour director was a very knowledgeable, helpful and fun young lady and our bus driver was an absolute Pro!! Thank you Tauck for the memories!! Berchtesgasden Salt Mines and Kehlstein Haus, Tyrolean dinner with local entertainers in Seefeld, Austria, mountain climbing at Malga Ferera, Dolomites (Cortina D'Ampezzo, Italy)

5* How can you exceed perfection
Could a Blue Danube cruise surpass our previous Christmas Markets? Equally impressive in their own rights, but both having their own Tauck identity. The Danube cruise was immense, something that will live in our memories forever. From the crew, Tauck Directors to the guests. Who can forget The Opera visit, dinner at Palais Pallavicini, kudos to all The dinner at Palais Pallavicini. Totally blew everybody away, from the wonderful orchestration to the ballet and Operatic performances, this was most certainly an evening to remember. The ambience within this vested building is superb, the most entertaining wait staff who served us such a fantastic meal with some equally wonderful wines,TKU to all

5* August 2018 Alps and Dolomites
A trip to a beautiful part of the world led by our excellent tour guide. Every city, town, village, and vista was a delight, the hotels were fabulous, and the local guides were knowledgeable and very interested in sharing their knowledge with us. Our bus driver was the best ever. Although heart-wrenching, the history and tour of Dachau, led by Michael, the best guide we have ever had on any tour, was a highlight of the trip. There was much we didn't know about the concentration camp, the events leading up to its creation, and the years after the war.

5* Ultimate Alps and Awesome Dolomites
Fantastic Tauck experience. Heidi, and local guides-the teacher in Munich and Heidi#2- were superb! Driver Evan- amaaazing! Wonderful city & countryside sites and scenery. Truly breathtaking mountains, especially during the long but rewarding "Yellow Roads" drive thru the Dolomites- doze here and you will miss majestic vistas that surpass the Alps! Topping the list of favorites were Salzburg, the salt mine (tour, trips down the wood slides, and dinner in the mine), the drive over Grossglockner pass and through the Dolomites, and the quintessential exclamation point to this fantastic trip- the tour of Neuschwanstein Castle. Least favorite (of many in our group): fondue dinner in Davos.

5* Fantastic Experience
From the moment we landed in Budapest (3 days before meeting our group), until the final day, I have never been treated so royally on vacation. This River Cruise exceeded any and all expectations I could ever have! The hotels at both ends, in Budapest and Prague were excellent, but the cruise itself, the Savour...there are not enough superlatives There are much too many to mention. Enjoy every single moment of this spectacular adventure. I would be remiss not to say the tour guides were simply amazing. And the crew on the boat....simply put....over the top!

5* Absolutely beautiful!
We had never been on a River Cruise but had heard how wonderful they are. Well, they are wonderful! This was the 5th Tauck trip we have been on and as usual, they do it right. We loved small boat cruising as you can see the beauty of the countryside and small towns. Loved just getting off and walking through the towns. Absolutely beautiful! We don't seem to be able to pick just one. Every town is unique and amazing. I guess if I had to pick one, it would be cruising the Wachau Valley! It was beautiful!

4* another "trip of a lifetime"!!

4* Awe-inspiring Views!!!!
Our trip of the Alps & Dolomoites was all that we expected & more. Our 2 extra days in Munich helped to put us in the mode for out journey. Our tour mates plus a knowledgable tour director & expert bus driver made our 2nd Tauck tour a very memorable one. Our memorable moment was the WHOLE tour. From first class hotels, to great views from our rooms, & the scenery while driving along the countryside.....our trip was all that we had hoped for.

4* Lovely
We loved our trip! The Tauck directors are the best ever! Our room on the ship was lovely. I would advise you purchase the highest level you can afford for the ship. Food is excellent. There is lots of walking!! We enjoyed all of the cities - each one is different. The hotels were acceptable; but, nothing special. The dinner evening at the Imperial Palace in Vienna is magical.

5* Puffy & Da Bomb do Eastern Europe
WOW! Thank you Tauck for a truly splendid experience on The Blue Danube Westbound cruise. Thank you for the royal treatment and for all the Tauck and ms Savor staff who always smiled and went the extra mile for our enjoyment and comfort. It's true ~ once you go Tauck, you never go anyone else! A unique, one-of-a-kind adventure. Happy trails! Only one? Organ concert in Passau. Palace dinners. Laughter and conversation with new friends.

2* Major Disappointment
The MS Savor had a MAJOR outbreak of gastro-intestinal problems a few days into the cruise. Approx. 70% onboard were affected. The cruise director did everything he could to minimize the problem with the guests, instead of being "up front". It was a huge damper on the mood on ship. I would expect this of Carnival, not Tauck. Sitting in a nearly empty dining room, because so many guests and staff were stricken with the shipboard gastro-intestinal problem.

5* MAGICAL MS JOY RIVER CRISE
Everything from Budapest to Prague was so perfect! The tours & sightseeing were fantastic. The MS JOY was beautiful! The staff was amazing, especially Jeremy our cruise director, he went above & beyond! The guides were fun, knowledgeable & expert in their local areas. The hotels 5 star. Thank you Tauck for making this trip so fantastic & magical. Everything was good, hard to pick out any one, but we would have to say the dinners at the Palais Pallavicini & Lobkowicz Castle were the most memorable. Meeting so many nice people from around the world, including Robin Tauck traveling with several of her friends. Tauck always has extra special surprises that make their tours fabulous!

5* WHO YOU TRAVEL WITH MATTERS
If you want to travel in style with first class accommodations, great food and spectacular venues, Tauck is the tour company to provide the great experience for you. In addition to seeing it all, meeting great people on your cruise is always a plus. We would not go any other way! Touring Prague was a wonderful experience. It is a beautiful city that is easily experienced by just walking around. Tauck’s guides impart so much valuable information you really get to learn a great deal about the city in a short time.

2* Misleadingly-named trip
A typical Tauck trip: great hotels, some meals, little cultural excursions (e.g. cheesemaker, brewery, schnapps distiller, chocolate creator). The problem is that 2 weeks of "Ultimate Alps and Dolomites" had just 2 hours walking in alps at 3 places and maybe half the trip was non-alps Europe. I'd wanted an actual 'Ultimate Alps and Dolomites' trip. Walking during our two-hour visit in Dolomiti. It turns out Dolomiti are astoundingly beautiful mountains and we had perfect weather that day to enjoy, briefly though it was, the wonderful scenery, wildflowers, etc. Tauck even arranged a little climbing lesson and climbing that rock wall a bit nicely enhanced the experience. Great fun.

5* My First River Cruise
This was my first river cruise and my first trip with Tauck. My friends had traveled with Tauck so many times that I felt it was time to take the Tauck experience. I was especially thrilled that the single supplement was waived for this excursion. Everything about the trip was fantastic and first rate. I will take another river cruise next year There were so many memorable moments, but the trip to Cesky Krumlov, the Schonbrunn Palace, Dom St. Stephen cathedral and the Hundertwasser House in Vienna will remain in my thoughts for a long time. Wish I could have stayed in Prague another day.

5* Alps and Dolomites a Real Winner !
Wonderful trip. Extraordinary exposure to the spectacular beauty and culture of the Alps. Each day filled with awesome scenery and fascinating interactions with local small, family-run businesses. Great hotels, always walking distance from local attractions. TD and Driver outstanding as usual; bus rides very manageable. Small Group. Oktoberfest! Two experiences standout among the many lifetime memories - Salzburg old town and nearby attractions (Eagle's Nest and salt mine), and unexpectedly seeing the "Iceman" in Bolzano. And a great group of fellow travelers!

2* Alps itinerary. Good and Bad and the Ugly
We thought Tauck was a professional & first class tour operator, but this itinerary feel short of that. Hotels were nice, but numerous issues, Kemp AC didn't work, Cristallo was very cold, no heat. Itinerary had 3 Holidays & 2 Sundays, the towns were closed, no chance explore or shop. Tour Director apologized, but that's no excuse for not knowing Cancelation of the Ludwig's Castle tour. We expected a fabulous dinner at the Criststallo hotel, service was bad and the food raw was uneatible. Wish we had time to sight see in the towns, but 2 day stays don't allow for it. Interalpen Hotel dinner service was poor with inexperienced staff. The off season itinerary was not handled well by Tauck.

4* The Ultimate Alps and Dolomites
Absolutely breath taking scenery. Nice hotels although most were not air conditioned. Problem in warm weather. Needed more time in Munich and Salzburg(could leave out the farm visit to have more time to see Salzburg and make plans to see a concert) Although hotel in Bad Worishofen was nice would have preferred to return to Munich to see more Besides the beautiful scenery the most memorable moment was the visit to the salt mine outside Salzburg to include dinner underground (meal was so so but the setting was incredible)

4* Majestic Sights of the Alps
There were so many highlights to list...the trip took us through some of the most stunning views of the lush, green alps in Austria and Germany. So many picture perfect moments of waterfalls and snow caped mountains. Being on top of the 6,600 ft above sea level Zugspitze in Germany was a moment to be remembered. We stayed at luxury hotels. Being on top of the Zugspitze in Germany and Berchtesgaden (Eagles Nest).

4* A storybook trip
The Westward bound Danube Cruse was one of the most memorable vacations we have ever taken. Bravo to the Tauck Tour Directors and the crew of the MS Savor. Never have we experienced such attention to detail. Our every need was anticipated. It's a task to please 117 people all of the time but these folks worked very hard to accomplish the task. We loved Vienna and Prague and the dinner in the Palais in Vienna was magical.

We took our granddaughter for a graduation present along with her father, our son, on a trip thru the Alps. It could not have been better. The scenery was magnificent, the hotels were superior, the trip Director was the best, the bus driver was highly skilled, the various stops were interesting and the weather was great. A perfect trip! There was not one, but several. Primarily the incomparable scenery that occurred day after day. We could not get over how beautiful the trip was on a daily basis.

5* Fascinating journey!
This is my 6th Tauck tour and I continue to be impressed with the journey the team puts together for their guests. I have loved every single one of my adventures. This tour is my favorite one so far. The history, mountains, activities and well planned & executed tour by the Tauck Director and Motor coach driver made my experience unforgettable. Loved everything about it! So hard to choose! The Dolomites area in Cortina, Munich excursions with our guide, Mt Titlis experience, the food & service through the areas visited especially in Cortina.

3* Trip and places we saw was very good. Tauck tour directors were not up to par.
When we arrived and asked to have coffee delivered to the room, the head tour director said that was not possible. Later at dinner one of the waiters said he would deliver coffee and asked what time. They did not circulate around the passengers during meals and did not give nearly enough information as to what we were to see the following day. Loved visiting the opera house and having the singers sing for us.

5* ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!
There is no way to explain how much we enjoyed this trip! The mountains were amazing and inspiring! Besides the sights and the sounds of the trip, we were "mothered" by our Tour Dir. She was vivacious and kept us informed about when, where, and how. Our local guides were also very good. The Tour Director is without a doubt one of the best Tour Dir! Our evening in the salt mine where we had dinner, danced and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

4* Great Tauck Blue Danube Experience
From the moment we were picked up in Budapest until leaving Prague,Tauck knows how to do it. All 1st Class. The tour directors were professional and friendly, they made every aspect of the trip uncomplicated. The MS Savor is a beautiful new ship and the service from the crew superb! All the special extras Tauck adds, make a memorable vacation! Our most memorable moment was our last evening's Reception and dinner with chamber music at the Lobkowicz Palace at Prague Castle. Prince William Lobkowicz gave a talk and then a private tour of his Palace, showing us many family heirlooms-a Beethoven and a Mozart handwritten symphony, priceless paintings- it was a very memorable evening!

It was a real vacation for us! Not a worry or issue, Tauck Team was there before they were needed. Expert briefings from the Tour Guides really added to our ability to get a sense of the uniqueness of the various special sights we toured. The MS Savor felt like home - meals perfect, exercise and entertainment. Treated like Royalty at all events. Dinner with European Entertainment was basically "unforgettable".The performers, string quartet, Opera Singers, Ballet Dancers were amazing fit for a King.

5* Wonderful Trip
We enjoyed the variety of activities and sites on this trip. The trip begins in Munich with a bit of history. The trips to Dachau and the Eagle's Nest were emotional. The rest of the trip includes scenic and cultural wonders, with the finale atop Mt. Titlis. Days are filled with interesting activities, but there is also plenty of free time. There were too many memories to select just one, but our favorites were the Eagle's Nest, the salt mine, the ski jumpers, the funicular and the views above Davos, Lake Lucerne, and Mt. Titlis.

It was a wonderful trip. All five countries we visited were spectacular with amazing views. Our tour guide could not have been better. Bus driver made us feel very safe. We went to many places I’m sure the average tourist does not see. All the hotels were first class. Tauck guides you through the entire tour anticipating every need. The Jeep ride up the Dolomite Mountains in Cortina, Italy and a guided hike lead by real mountain climbers were the highlights of our trip.

5* Wow, Tauck has Outdone Themselves. Please let me give this more than 5 stars!
This was our third Tauck river cruise. We loved our first two, but this one was just over the top fabulous. The river views were scenic, the towns we visited were spectacular, the "Tauck exclusives" were extraordinary, and the Tauck (and Scylla) staff were, as always, simply excellent. Lobcowitz Castle in Prague was an unexpected surprise. What a fascinating place!

5* Extraordinary Trip
Loved our stay in Salzburg as well as our visits to Munich and Innsbruck. Combining those lovely cities with the incredible beauty of the Alps and Dolomites was incredible. Add the lovely Bolzano and the entire experience was a five-star event (the almost perfect weather certainly helped??) Listening to Mozart played in concert at Mirabell Palace in Salzburg was my personal high. Listening to the church bells on our balcony at the Astoria, hearing the organ rehearsal in church in Munich, the sound of cowbells in the fields at Weis, the caramel cafe in Innsbruck, the thunder claps echoing in Davos.......

5* Love the former Communist countries
It was a great trip. Only detraction is that it was a bit cold for mid October. I can't say enough great things about the Tauck staff!! We had the best Tour Directors and our on board cruise Director. They could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We loved the MS Savor; our rooms were so comfortable. In Budapest at the House of Terror there is a room with a large cross in the floor with lights shining on it; moving image explaining the role of the Catholic Church. The on board staff of the ship were the most memorable; very personable and engaging and tried to know us individually and as Americans we appreciate this very much! WELL DONE!!

5* Perfect Cruise on Danube
We sailed westbound from Budapest to Prague on the Savor. Beautiful boat, great crew. Food excellent. Five countries in 12 days, a lot of history. Tauck employees top of the line, very professional and pleasant. Contract guides for shore excursions were knowledgable locals that provided a feel for each place we visited. Local guides comparing life under communism verses their lives after the fall of communism. Dinners in Budapest, Vienna and Prague.

5* go see the alps and dolomites!
it was fantastic! the mountains are just spectacular, as are the alpine architecture and food. we had so many great experiences but the favorites were the "top of" moments. germany, austria, eagle's nest, the pass. our group was so friendly and our guide was fun and very knowledgable. the bus is uber-comfy. the hotels were fantastic!! must do! the top of germany! amazing!

5* Very enjoyable, interesting, and diverse trip with one exception.
The one exception was the Hotel Ancora, in Cortina d" Ampezzo, Italy. This hotel was not up to Tauck standards. We had a tiny, dirty room with no place to put luggage. I tried to pay for an upgrade with the front desk and was met with a rude, arrogant desk clerk who lectured me about the fact that I had one of the best rooms. Leaving the Hotel Ancora the following morning and so grateful that I did not have to spend another night in that hotel. This hotel is rated #22 on Trip Advisor and if another hotel is not available in this town, I would eliminate an over night stay in Cortina from this trip.

4* Trip of a Lifetime
No worries! How can something be both laidback and elegant?! Tauck handles it all. The local guides made all the difference. They were entertaining and informative. When Tauck says all inclusive, they mean it. This tour was beautiful. Comparing Architecture, looking at beautiful country side, and enjoying the culture! Trip of a Lifetime! Dinner and Tour at Lobkowicz Palace, which included a lecture by a member of the Lobkowicz family. My husband would say it was the afternoon cruise along the Wachau Valley. Maybe it was meeting new friends. Or, no, it was the exclusive look into the libraries at the monastery. Nope, The quaint town of Durnstein. Ok, way too many!

5* The Alps and Dolomites, spectacular!
Our tour began 9/01/16 in Munich and moved on to Seefeld, Austria with a stop in Oberammergau on the way there. From there, a stop in Innsbruck and on to Salzburg. Then into the Dolomites and to Cortina, Italy, and from there to Davos, Switzerland stopping in Bolzano to visit the frozen mummy. From there to Lichtenstein and ending in Baden! We were on a high all the way. Mother Nature smiled on us all the way. Our outings in the Dolomites and the Swiss Alps were spectacular. And our visit to Eagle's Nest and the salt mines were great, too. And our tour director was the best, ever. He was a wonderful shepherd and we all followed him.

4* An Enjoyable Road Trip
The views travelling through the Alps and Dolomites were quite stunning aided by the fact that we had excellent weather. On the whole, hotels were of the usual Tauck high standard, as were meals that were provided. Excursions were interesting although a couple could be classified as "filler",understandable given the distances covered. Visit to the Salt mines, a unique experience.

5* Magical Danube!
We went from Budapest to Prague on the most luxurious vacation I've ever had. The way Tauck provides service way exceeded my expectations. All of their people are friendly, warm, accommodating, and professional. The ship was beautifully appointed and comfortable. The food was beyond outstanding. The local tour guides were very knowledgable. It's really difficult to pinpoint as everything was wonderful. The Opera House in Budapest with its impromptu performance was thrilling, and each city had its charm. The totality of the tours was like a grad school course in history. The gala dinners on either end of the trip were wonderful. There was beautiful music, too.

5* Cruising the Danube with Tauck
This was my first Tauck experience, and it certainly won't be my last. I've enjoyed many cruises, but this exceeded my expectations. The ship, MS Joy, was aptly named, and included single cabins for solo travelers like myself that were ingenious. The staff made me feel like I was the only one on the ship. Truly exceptional. When one of our guides became ill and had to return to the US, Tauck brought in a replacement before any of us even realized there was a problem. The change was seamless -- not every company could do that, but Tauck's commitment to putting its guests first is real. The experience never missed a beat. Very impressive.

4* Nice trip
It was a very nice trip with lovely people. The staff on the ship, the tour guides and the fellow passengers were all wonderful. The weather was not so nice but everyone made the best of it. The food was a bit disappointing particularly the final meal. The lamb chops were fabulous but the risotto and philopino noodles not good. No galley tour. Visiting the gardens in Prague the last day on our own.. We had wonderful catherdrals, palaces, castles but no gardens. The last day in Prague was sunny and beautiful; we saw all three gardens. The timing was not good for the synagogues due to the holidays. We could not get into the buildings or crematory.

5* Danube, westbound
I am a solo, so I went on the tour by myself. I met wonderful people who took me in right away. The boat, the staff and crew were just fantastic !!, I have already booked another tour to Greece and Turkey, can't wait!!! Thank you for making the trip awesome!!! Too many, everything was top notch. No worries, just a great time in beautiful countries.

4* Awesome Vacation
The itinerary was well thought out and very knowledgeable local guides made the experience educational and fun. Tauck takes great pride in planning everything down to the last detail from giving money to their guests for lunch and toilets to being on hand to answer questions at disembarkation, to directing their guests at the airport with gate info. The special dinner at the Palais Pallavincini

5* One of my best trips yet
I had only gone on riverboat cruises and was a bit worried about taking a bus tour. Our tour guide and driver were EXCEPTIONAL, which is important on an Alps tour because of the curvy and high roads. I’m a bit of a wimp! It was one of my favorite trips ever! The scenery was spectacular, the special events memorable, the hotels amazing! Wandering the streets of Salzburg, listening to music echoing between the buildings and climbing up into the cliff chapels in St. Peters graveyard. The local beer, schnapps and Cheese tastings at the locals’ farms throughout the trip. The cliff climbing in the Italian alps. I loved everything!

5* THe Ultimate Alps & Dolomites
We travel through a lot of scenic areas. The Dolomites were beautiful and quite distinct. The fellow travelers on the tour were friendly, making the trip very pleasant. The accommodations were superb and Tauck's arrangements for the trip impeccable. I really appreciate the all inclusive aspect of Tauck tours where all excursions are included. There were many great moments on the trip, such as free time in Bolzano where I decided to visit the museum to see the Ice Man, but for me the drive along the Grossglockner Pass was most memorable. The scenery was breathtaking and I was in the midst of the Dolomites. The weather cooperated which makes the drive a success.

5* First but Surely Not Last Tauck Tour
We're grateful to Tauck for a memorable Danube Cruise--our first ever river cruise and first experience with Tauck. Every aspect was topnotch: fine, well-located hotels, spacious cabin, caring Tauck Directors and ship staff, congenial fellow guests, excellent food and beverage service, delightful special events, and convenient airport transfers. Viewing a roomful of Bruegel paintings in Vienna's Fine Arts Museum.

5* Alps and Dolomites June 2016
Despite the weather, rain and clouds, this was a terrific vacation. Three generations of our family took this trip and all ages really had an enjoyable time. Our guide was excellent! Scenery was amazing driving thru snowy mountain passes and green valleys. We found good balance between tours and time on our own. Special moments occurred daily. Watching our grand children experience Europe for the first time was priceless.

5* First class
Of all the trips I've taken this one was by far the best. From beginning to end it was first class all the way. The tour directors were pleasant and very concerned about my comfort. As a first time solo traveler, I always felt safe and important. Whatever I needed it was provided. I was able to participate in the programs or just "do my own thing." Laying in bed with the doors to the French balcony open and listening to the river go by and the birds lulling me to sleep.

5* Danube River
Fabulous trip from start to finish. The MS Savor was the nicest riverboat we've traveled on; the staff was attentive & accommodating, and each daily tour was perfectly executed. It was a very active trip with lots of walking & early mornings, but it was well worth it as there was so much to see, and all the points of interest were not to be missed. The private gala dinners in both Vienna at the Palais Pallavicini and the Lobkowicz Palace in Prague were a great treat.

4* Blue Danube Westbound
It was a wonderful trip. There were a few pitfalls however and that is why I didn't give 5 stars. Our toilet kept overflowing. After asking many times to have it repaired, they finally did it, but it was the night of the dinner at the Viennese Palace. I had to get dressed in the bathroom up in the bistro. The ports of call were great though My favorite part was the sailing in the daytime. So lovely. We also enjoyed the little surprises Tauck does!

5* Bavaria with our teen daughter
This was a spectacular trip. Even with our lost luggage (that caught up with us after a couple of days) and the extreme and unusual hot temperatures, this was a very special trip, our 4th with Tauck. Our Tauck Director was a sweet, efficient, knowledgeable guide; our driver was super, the hotels varied and very nice. Loved Salzburg, Innsbrook. The tiny village next to Davos with the beer brewery, very mellow and fun to see.

3* Disappointing tour guide
It was generally a good trip but started out a little slow. Beautiful hotels and great food. But the tour guide was disappointing. On the coach PA system he droned on for hours without a break reading road signs and criticizing other drivers and pedestrians. Telling derogatory stories about previous guests, not very professional. Salt mine tour and Cortina Italy where we had a great hike and were able to learn how to rock climb.

4* Blue Danube River Cruise
Tauck was extremely well organized and we received the highest level of care throughout the entire trip. His museum is amazing.

4* Ultimate Alps and Dolomites May 2017
Our Ultimate Alps and Dolomites tour was filled with breathtaking views of the mountains and the quaint villages below. The hotels were centrally located in the cities and those in the smaller villages all had fantastic views in every direction. Our daily trips were always interesting and our tour director was outstanding. Most memorable was attending mass at St. Peters in Munich on Ascension Thursday. Other great memories include the Grossglocker Pass, Wolfgang Lake, the Salt Mines and listening to the cuckoo birds from our hotel room.

We enjoyed most places, we spent a lot of time in the bus and many beautiful places we drove through and didn't even make a 5 min stop for pictures. Great hotels, food was very good (don't expect to eat like in Italy, Spain or France). Overall great way to enjoy some places and have a glimpse of others that you may want to come back. Mt Titlis, Salt mines, small villages like St Gilgen, Monstein.

Daily excursions with local guides provided insight into the destinations visited. Whether it was a tour of town, hike on top of a mountain, beer tasting, cheese making, dinner in a salt mine, behind the scenes in a chocolate factory, driving through the countryside, boat ride on Lake Lucerne, or fondue dinner, experiences were location specific. 5* Budapest to Prague River Cruise "Better than Excellent"
Every detail was taken care of. The Tauck extras were amazing. If you are looking for no worries, and a trip that is "under promised and over-delivered", take Tauck. The boat, directors and buses were exceptional. The private tours, hosts and surprises were everywhere though out the trip. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy every day! The Prague Castle dinner was by far the BEST. Hosted by the reinstated owner (Prince), it was a delight to hear the family story and see what a marvelous job the Prince and wife have done with the art they re-inherited. They do Prague and the Czech Republic proud. Theirs is the best museum I have ever been in. This visit alone was work the trip!

5* Awesome Alps!
This was an absolutely wonderful trip. Amazing views at every turn. Many, many "WOW" moments. The tour director and driver were great. Unfortunately we encountered some bad weather, but our tour director anticipated this and had alternative plans. The hotels and meals were first rate, and there was just the right amount of free time. We had three really memorable moments: Hiking and rock climbing in the dolomites, strolling through Salzburg and dinner in the salt mine.

5* Blue Danube River Cruise
The towns chosen were great. Our guides were outstanding. The MS Joy is lovely. Only suggestion would be that special dinner last night of trip be moved to night before so people could sit with friends they had met. The last night was a rather chaotic evening after a long day. Last night dinner could be held on ship or reserv tables. walking through history!

4* Alps & Dolomites!
I had never been to Europe before so we were able to cover a large area in a short time. The tour guide and bus driver were both excellent. The hotels were excellent and well situated to tour on our free time. The food on the trip was outstanding. The bus ride from Cortina to Davos was a little long. I would have liked a tour of BMW while in Munich. I thought the highlight was tour of Mt. Titles and the Dolomites near Contina. thanks for a fun trip.

5* Lived up to our expectations
First Tauck experience, we hope not our last. Loved the service and the knowledgeable, friendly staff, including local guides at stops. Wine choices (ask for the wine list!) were marvelous. Hotels in Budapest & Prague not the Four Seasons as advertised, but were only a notch below & still quite adequate. Overall a lovely experience. Cruising through the gorgeous Wachau Valley in Austria. Cruising in general (versus touring cities and towns) was a treat. Also the ballet, string quartet and tenor/soprano singing arias at a private palace in Vienna: super wonderful, even if the food at the dinner was kind of mediocre.

5* Fantastic Danube experience
We were very impressed with every aspect of this trip - the itinerary, attention to every detail, special occasion dinners and of course the tour directors. With everything included in the up front cost, there were no hidden or unexpected expenses. Hard to pick just one thing. I think being in the smaller towns like Durnstein was the most special and especially the afternoon that we were able to cruise through the Wachau Valley. We were blessed with a beautiful day to see the scenery from the sun deck.

5* The Blue Danube
Travel on the riverboat was a pleasure. The staff was excellent. The food was superb. We visited many beautiful cities and towns along the river. The guides in the various towns were knowledgeable and well spoken. We enjoyed unpacking our luggage one time on the boat versus every two days on a land tour. The dinner and entertainment at the palace in Vienna was wonderful. We also enjoyed the town of Chesky Krumilov in the Czech Republic. Sharing the trip with new friends and having many laughs is a fond memory.

Hats off to our Tauck Director and driver! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never believe how someone could get a big bus on a rail train! The evening at the Waldgasthaus with music, singing, dancing and great food. Hotel Astoria and Spa in Seefeld with a tour of Linderhof. 4* Alps and dolomites July 2018
This was our 19th trip which we did back to back with Switzerland, this being the first. Besides the majestic scenery, we had hands on experiences, entertainment, and active fun. The balance of free time and activities is excellent. I would recommend this over the Switzerland trip which is very boring unless you are a foodie or shopper. Mt. Titlis activities and Salzburg where we had time to do our own "Sound of Music" walking tour. We would have liked a Mozart performance of some type there, thus the 4 instead of 5 stars.
