Plunging 50 metres in a series of thunderous cascades, Niagara Falls marks the border of Canada and the USA. After arriving in Toronto, the Falls will be one of the first stops on your journey. Tick off the French cities of Montréal and Québec City before boarding a stylish cruise, making stops in Maritime Canada and across the border in New England. Visits to Rhode Island and beautiful Cape Cod provide a truly scenic finale to the trip.
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Toronto. On arrival, we transfer to our hotel in downtown Toronto.
We’ll complete an orientation tour of Toronto, a dynamic city dwarfed by the CN tower, before we head to a true icon of world travel.
Picturesque in their parkland setting and awe-inspiring in their power, Niagara Falls are captivating, whether you may choose to view them up close from a Hornblower boat or perhaps a helicopter flight.
Take in the scenes of the 1,000 Island Parkway, following the north shore of the St Lawrence River, as we head north towards Montréal. The afternoon is free.
Consistently rated as one of the ‘most liveable cities in the world’, Montréal is the perfect introduction to French-speaking Canada. A guided tour this morning takes in many of its historical and architectural highlights, and the afternoon is free to make your own explorations.
Following a leisurely morning, we transfer to the port to embark our ship ahead of a late afternoon sailing.
Located within the St Lawrence River Valley, framed to the north by the majestic Laurentian Mountains and to the south by the Appalachian foothills, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Québec City is the only fortified city in North America. The perfectly preserved old town is a delight to explore and discover its French colonial history and culture.
This morning, we dock on Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province, known as million-acre farm. There are so many ways to explore Charlottetown, including by double-decker bus. From here you can visit the famous Prince Edward Island National Park, home of Cavendish and Anne of Green Gables homestead, and stroll the boardwalk, overlooking the beautiful sandy beaches of the island.
A hundred thousand Gaelic welcomes await in Nova Scotia. There are highland villages to visit, the scenic Cabot Trail to explore, golden inland seas to sail and the Fortress of Louisbourg to inspect - where every barn, barracks and pipe and drum corps appears just as it did when King Louis’ troops occupied the site in 1744.
We arrive in Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax, a city rich in maritime history. Its impressive 18th-century Citadel situated on a hill high above, was a British stronghold built to repel an American attack that never came. The city sits on one of the largest natural harbours in the world and has numerous shops and museums to enjoy. You may prefer to take a whale-watching trip or perhaps sample some of the excellent lobster for which the city is famed.
Once the exclusive summer resort of America’s fabulously wealthy, today Bar Harbor is a gateway to the natural beauty of Acadia National Park. Watch for white-tailed deer and other wildlife, and perhaps enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park. Whale watching tours are available from late June to late October.
We disembark and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Boston, taking in highlights such as the site of the Boston Tea Party, Back Bay and Beacon Hill, ending at Quincy Market.
After a short transfer to our hotel in Plymouth, this afternoon is free - perhaps visit the Pilgrim Museum and Plymouth Rock.
Today, we visit the seaside city of Newport on Rhode Island. Renowned for the Gilded Aged mansions lining Bellevue Avenue, we visit its most famous - The Breakers - a 70-room Italian Renaissance-style palazzo - the grandest symbol of Newport’s summer ‘cottages’.
Today we enjoy a visit to Cape Cod, with its timeless scenery, famous food and waterfront vistas. We spend time in Chatham, Provincetown and Sandwich, one of its oldest and most picturesque towns, with beautiful old homes and museums.
We’ll then make our way to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
