Depart the city and get to know your new Trek friends as you cross Washington and Idaho's Bitterroot Range into 'Big Sky Country'. Montana welcomes you with rugged mountain peaks and wide open spaces. You’re definitely in for one heck of a road trip!

Keep your camera handy to capture the abundant wildlife that roams the park such as bison, bear, moose and elk.
Next up, wonderful views and hikes await you in the majestic Grand Teton National Park. With few foothills to speak of, the jagged peaks rise like teeth from lush, flat meadows against the bright blue Wyoming sky. Next we visit the truly Western town of Jackson. An optional white water rafting trip on the Snake River rapids, one of America's last great untamed rivers, should definitely get the adrenaline pumping. If you prefer to stay on dry land how about a shot of 'Red Eye' Whiskey at Jackson's Silver Dollar Saloon?
Say goodbye to the mountains and hello to the unique red rock scenery that marks the start of the Desert Southwest as you head for the border with Utah. You'll soon see why the intrepid explorer John Wesley Powell gave this place the name Flaming Gorge, as you watch the sun reflecting off this unique red rock landscape. Make sure to get that grammable shot of the sunset over Flaming Gorge and Green River. The views are out of this world!
Known for being the USA'S natural adventure playground, Moab is next up on your itinerary and boy will you be impressed! Named Arches National Park for a reason, the countless number of incredible red rock formations dotted all over the park, shaped by the elements, make for some serious exploration. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an included guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and backroads. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape during the day, then when the sun goes down swap campfire stories under a blanket of stars.
Strike out across the desert in search of one of the 'Seven Natural Wonders of the World', the Grand Canyon. An early morning start has its rewards as this jaw-dropping landscape comes alive with colour at sunrise. Take to the sky to witness the Grand Canyon's monumental red and gold formations from up high on an optional helicopter flight. Hit the rim trails for vast incredible views of the canyon. You may prefer to hike down into the belly of the canyon, where Plateau Point offers views of the rushing Colorado River. Or, there’s the aptly named 'Ooh Aah Point' on the South Kaibab Trail. Whatever view of the Grand Canyon you go for, you'll never forget the moment you first lay your eyes on this incredible place!
Today you travel a section of the original Route 66 and make a stop at the little town of Seligman, packed with quirky shops full of iconic road trip memorabilia. Next it’s off to the main event, Las Vegas! With a sudden burst of neon, this desert oasis appears before your eyes. A-list stars swarm to this 24/7 party town - you may not make it into any of their swanky parties, but you can feel like a total legend if you take a cruise down The Strip on an optional party bus. The possibilities are endless in Vegas…tour the glamorous hotels, take in a show, ride a roller coaster or go clubbing all night. TrekAmerica was founded 45 years ago, on a simple concept; get together a group of free-wheeling, independent types, pack up a van with tents, camping gear and a trek leader and follow the road, hitting all the key places along the way. Today, not much has changed, and as the longest running North American, small group tour company, they are proud to say no-one knows the area like them. With ‘Tours for Non-Tourists’, they love bringing together small groups of young, international travellers to experience the best of USA, Canada, Alaska and South America; showing them America's big highlights from bustling cities to jaw-dropping National Parks, and incredible places so hidden only locals like them know about them.
TrekAmerica tours are designed specifically for young, international travellers aged 18-38, so you're guaranteed to be travelling with people of a similar age, all with a sense of fun, adventure and a keen desire to explore. Whether you're travelling alone or with friends, you'll soon be surrounded by like-minded people who will quickly become your new best trek mates. The tour leaders are home-grown, knowledgeable and fun loving folks with a passion for showing you the real Americas. Only the most enthusiastic and committed people are chosen to become tour leaders; they are trained extensively as TrekAmerica believe that the most important ingredient for the success of a tour is a great leader.
With year round departures and over 50 unique itineraries from 3 days to 3 months in length, TrekAmerica offer a wide range of tours and departures and whatever you choose they guarantee you the experience of a lifetime! Each trip offers fantastic value for money; they include all accommodation and transport, your own experienced tour leader, all national park fees and selected meals on some tours. Plus there are no single supplements for those travelling alone. They also include exciting activities along the way so you get serious ‘bang for your buck’. You have a choice of accommodation on each tour; you can opt for full on communing with nature with the camping option, or go the hostel route of group accommodation with the Budget Lodging option, or if you need your creature comforts, the Plus option is for you.
Whichever tour you choose, fun, freedom and flexibility are key to TrekAmerica’s style of travel and with interests as individual as their travellers, you're able to hang out with the group when you want or do your own thing. In addition to the many included highlights and activities, there are also lots of optional activities for you to choose from during your trip. They keep these optional so you have the flexibility to do the things you want to and leave out the things you don't, according to taste and budget.
