I caught up with Dan the CEO of Collette to ask what drives his family to stay in the business after 100 years and why everybody should consider taking an escorted touring holiday!
My father purchased Collette from a guy called Jack Collette in 1962, upon his retirement. At the time, my parents had six kids living at home, and it was a difficult decision- which proved to be exciting and challenging!
Travelling the world is such a thrill but the greatest part is being able to fulfill the dreams of others with the creation of new tours and excursions.
Following in my father’s footsteps as CEO was a huge accomplishment, and now that my daughter has taken over as the first female President of Collette, we have entered into the third generation of Sullivan’s to serve in the role. Taking risks has been a huge component of our success in the industry- but it’s also important to reflect on how much we’ve been able to give back in the communities around us. Serving one million meals to those in need over the past three years is an achievement that I am so proud of.
The best part about touring on your holiday is that we handle all the details – and everything in between. It’s the ultimate opportunity to see all the sights and combine leisure time without having to lift a finger (in the planning stage or on tour).
We’ve been doing this for 100 years, so we know what it takes to plan a successful tour. We have a team of employees that are on the ground scoping out hotels, restaurants, and cultural icons. We don’t rely on what others are doing – we want to be sure to plan the best of the best for our guests.
