Onboard with the skipper from St Hilda Sea Adventures

When Christophe was working in the oil and gas industry, the last thing he thought he’d be doing now is skippering the fabulous St Hilda Sea Adventure’s vessels, but his love for the sea, as well as his love for the owner’s daughter Julie led him to this wonderful career change.

After the last 10 years of operating their traditional wooden motor sailor around the beautiful west coast of Scotland, Julie’s father decided it was time to give up his skippering days aboard St Hilda to spend more time on his yacht, so Julie and Christophe took over the business and started their new adventure in 2017.

The west coast of Scotland is a great place to have an adventure on the sea. It’s the perfect tourist charter area due to the abundance of wildlife, bird colonies, seals, castles, iconic places such as Tobermory, and of course the famous single malt Scottish whiskies.

Onboard you can expect to meet like minded people from all over the world, in particular the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. Cultured and open minded, everyone seems to gel really well. You will also find many repeat clients, as well as first timers on the water.

If you’re fussy about your food, do not fear!! There is a chef on board who checks everybody’s  dislikes prior to shopping for provisions, and there will be no formalities. Relaxed and comfortable dining is certainly encouraged.

There is always lots of fun and laughter aboard the small ship. Come aboard to sail; explore wild sea lochs, islands and coastlines; observe the extraordinary Scottish wildlife or just relax and mess about on the water. Each day is as action packed or as relaxing as you please - perfect for recharging the batteries.

A highlight to look forward to - sailing to St Kilda, the furthest island from the mainland in the middle of the Atlantic, but this is really weather dependant.
