We head to Brussels and the cobbled Grand-Place, a jewel of Gothic architecture, to see the magnificent Flower Carpet. Created by around a hundred volunteer gardeners, this giant floral puzzle is set up in less than eight hours. Enjoy the fragrant scents and rich palette of colours from vivid to delicate pastel shades. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure in the city with the opportunity to enjoy dinner in a restaurant of our choice before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
This morning we head to the vibrant city of Ghent. One of Belgium’s oldest cities, there’s a wealth of medieval and classical architecture to admire along the pretty canals and maze of cobblestone streets. Ghent is also home to an abundance of quirky bars and cafés and some of Belgium’s best museums.Next we visit the lovely city of Bruges. Known as ‘the Venice of northern Europe’, Bruges is a beautifully-preserved medieval city of picturesque canals, impressive squares of pretty guild houses and narrow cobbled lanes crammed with fine chocolate shops, lace boutiques and souvenir shops. We enjoy time at leisure in Bruges, with the chance to find a restaurant for dinner, before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
Travel back to Calais for our return ferry home, stopping en-route in Lille, France.
