5* Budapest to Amsterdam
My wife, adult daughter and I travelled from Budapest to Amsterdam on the MS Espirt. The Tauck cruise director and tour guides were outstanding providing us with great excursions and information about everything we saw and where we went. Travel arrangements for the excursions appeared to come off without any problems. The ship’s crew were also outside when we returned. This is hard to say as we had many memorable moments. The beauty along the rivers, castles and churches were absolutely stunning.

5* Budapest to Amsterdam...Perfection!
Tauck knocked it out of the park again. Every detail was perfect. Our cruise director and tour directors' strengths were the perfect compliment to each other. All the tours and options made a group experience feel very personal. We loved the ambiance of the group and the accommodations. This was our first river cruise and we are sold! There were so many great experiences. The gala in Vienna, Melk Abbey, the war history of Nuremberg, storybook Rothenburg; it's impossible to choose one favorite. We are already combing through brochures, trying to decide where to let Tauck take us next.

5* Fabulous!
Tauck made the trip extra special. The tours were wonderful; the tour guides on the boat were very knowledgeable and personal, they made sure you had a very memorable tour, and the entertainment and meals were special to the stops we made. Everything on the boat was top notch. Could not be happier about the trip!

4* Our /first /river /cruise...Our /first /Tauck Tour
We give 4 stars, but would make a few suggestions to make it a 5 star review. The hot food was cold every breakfast and lunch except the soup. Appetizers were POOR, quality of fish POOR, leftover pancakes for dessert under new name! Tours too long, using up any free time!!! Suggest give detailed handouts to history buffs and cut tour times to 1hr Loved Vienna, however, all stores closed for 4 day period! Loved Vienna, Rudesheim, and Rothenburg, and Amsterdam the best... however, overall there was never enough free time! We enjoyed meeting new people, and had a great time after the cruise getting together with 7 others from the cruise for and Indonesian dinner in Amsterdam.

5* Memorable Experience
Although we had a problem with the airlines, once we arrived in Budapest we had a truly great vacation. All crew members(Esprit) and all Tauck personnel went above and beyond to make the trip all that was promised and more. They also threw in some extra bonuses like a night cruise on the Danube to see the lights of Budapest. There were many, but our favorite was celebrating our 39th anniversary on a small canal boat lunch cruise in the canals of Amsterdam. The temperature was 74 F in October!

4* Budapest to Amsterdam
Another wonderful experience. The scenery was breathtaking and the crew on the riverboat were wonderful. However, I can honestly say that this is the first time in my three trips with Tauck that I met an employee that I did not like. I found this tour director to be way below your standards. He was barely understandable, spoke too. . fast, (I probably understood one of every ten),was not very friendly or helpful and one time was downright rude to me over an issue of my not knowing that they were going to move the boat while we were off on shore. If he said "ciao for now" one more time, I was going to scream. If I take another river trip and he is the cruise director, I won't book.

5* Rivercrusing: A dream come true
We sailed from Budapest to Amsterdam on a small river boat, a dream of mine for several years. The trip met my expectations and more! Our day and evening in Vienna proved to be so wonderful that I still think it might have been a real dream. Sailing on the Danube, Main and Rhine and visiting each town (big and little) proved to be so much fun! There were many memorable moments. For us, the night in Vienna, the unplanned night visit in Koblenz and the wine tasting at the Park Residenz in Wurtzburg were highlights of our trip.

5* Great trip!
We saw a lot, learned a lot, and enjoyed the great variety included in the trip. Getting to try local food and drinks added to the fun. There was a perfect balance between busy times and time to sit back and take it all in. Both the Tauck tour directors on board as well as the local guides were excellent! There were so many amazing moments! Of course, the Imperial evening in Vienna was very special. Having Rudesheim coffee at lunch along with the music & fun time with fellow passengers and then hiking through the vineyards to Germania Monument is a day we both won't forget!

4* Budapest to Amsterdam
The change of ships due to the low water level of the Danube was annoying, but it proved to be a plus--a chance to drive by bus through the beautiful German agricultural countryside not visible from the Danube riverside. Every waterside and countryside view was magnificent, together with the luxury and comfort of both Treasures and Esprit. Large cities with history, small towns with charm, and the continuous beauty of the sights along the river. One could never pick a favorite! We loved the artists brought on board for our extra entertainment.

4* Great River cruise
Having been with Tauck for two great land trips, we wondered how they would do with a river cruise. Answer. Typical Tauck. Great care for all of us; terrific local guides; three great tour directors to keep us on time; beautiful ship with a great crew (Treasure - about to be overhauled). Of course, Budapest to Amsterdam provides an ideal setting. As with prior Tauck trips, the people we met and whose company we thoroughly enjoyed.

4* river cruise
It was a very pleasant trip. We liked the small group atmosphere. The walking tours were generally very good. The Tauck crew was excellent. The room was fine. The breakfast and lunch were very good. Dinners were mediocre, except the soups were excellent. My most memorable moment was seeing the Rembrandt pictures in Amsterdam. My husband liked the ballet and opera at the private dinner in Vienna - he was blown away.

5* Great crew, brilliant food!
We enjoyed every moment of this cruise. The staff were all very helpful and happy. Deserving special accolades is the chef Jon. Usually, cruise food is average at best and I look forward to eating at restaurants on the shore. However, Chef Jon did a brilliant job of buying locally at each stop and preparing regional dishes that were superb. Hard to pick a favorite moment because we had fun the entire voyage.

5* After 7 years of planning, I chose Tauck and had the best vacation ever.
Started looking at river cruises 7 years ago and hadn't considered Tauck. Last year took my first Trip with Tauck (Best of Ireland) and I was sold. It's all and more what you might expect. The little things such as musicians and singers that came on board and performed along with a glassblower was what memories are made of. Hike to the hilltop ruins of Kuenringerburg, the castle where King Richard the Lionhearted was once held for ransom. The view from the castle was fantastic and every time I see a picture of the castle in a book or on the internet I can say I climbed up to the castle where King Richard was held. The Imperial Viennese evening was mesmerizing

4* Only One Bad Experience
Tauck is the best. We all know that! That's why we repeatedly book trips with this Company. However, I must report that the Maitre D on the MS Treasures (August, 2018) was surly, argumentative and so down-right rude to my spouse and me on the third night of this cruise that we just got up and walked out of the restaurant in the middle of the meal. Getting over our most unpleasant experience with the Treasures' Maitre D when we were moved to the MS Esprit.

5* Budapest to Amsterdam : Best vacation ever !
This was the best trip of my lifetime. I spent two wonderful weeks on the Treasure going on the Danube to the Rhine river. I loved the fact the the number of people on the cruise are limited to a smaller numbers. You get to KNOW everyone on the ship including the crew. I cannot say enough about the crew ! I was so pampered and spoiled rotten! I have to say it was making my new friend:Bob.He had come on the trip by himself and we became buddies on the tours so that neither of us would get lost.My friend Carolyn and I had dinner with Bob, and he asked me this same question.I couldn't pinpoint because there were so many,I asked him,he thought for a moment, looked me in the eye,and said"You"

This was our first experience with Tauck and definitely not our last. Beginning with the beauty of Budapest on the MS Treasures and ending in bustling Amsterdam on the MS Esprit we experienced the amazing service of 2 separate crews without missing a beat. It speaks volumes about Tauck's experience and attention to detail that we managed the switch. Hard to pick just one. The dinner at Palais Ferstel in Vienna while listening to world class opera singers was incredible. Riding the gondola to the Niederwald Monument above Rudesheim was exhilarating. Topped off with 2 amazing violinists performing for us on the last night in the Panorama Lounge! Do I really have to make a choice?

They were awesome and have clearly developed processes that leave nothing to chance. I can't think of anything to add. Great job. Lost my passport, drivers license, and credit card info in Vienna. After years of sailing on the big ships with impersonal service and crowded excursions, it was wonderful to board this lovely, elegant river boat and receive the best customer service ever! The Tauck staff as well as the crew of MS Treasures were wonderful and at every opportunity just kept raising the bar. Tauck went over and above to ensure this would be a memorable journey. We highly recommend Tauck and this river cruise! Dinner in Vienna at the Palais Paliavicini, an 18th century palace. 4* Coordination / Flexibility
Tauck has not yet learned to control weather conditions!! I don't know why they control all other facets of a great trip. Our Riverboat cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam was interrupted by lack of rain in which the our riverboat heading north stopped at Passau and could not continue because the Main river was too low. The coordination to transfer our cruise passengers to the Tauck boat that was traveling south with their passengers being bused to our boat was as smooth as one could make it. The boat heading south now traveled north and the one traveling north turned around and traveled south. The chef on the Esprit was outstanding!!

A high quality ship. Excellent cabins, itinerary, shore excursions and on-board entertainment. We liked that it was all inclusive. The Tour Directors were exceptional and engaging with a great depth of knowledge. Guests were predominantly from the USA and the tone established by the Cruise Director was mono-cultural rather than international. We thoroughly enjoyed the Gala Evening at Baroque Palais Ferstel. The small towns we stopped in were like traveling back in time. I expected a medieval section and a modern section in each town, but there was no modern parts, just like going back in time. The guides were excellent and the Tauck directors were wonderful. I would recommend this trip to everyone. I enjoyed the music museum and seeing the ancient buildings still standing and in use today. Sitting on the deck of the boat with new friends as we motored along the river was special.

5* Northbound on the Danube
Overall, the journey was fantastic. The crew of the MS Treasures could not have been better. The on-board food was superb. One of the cruise directors quipped that the food is so good that you board the ship as a passenger but go home as cargo. We had dinner one night in a palace in Vienna (including musical entertainment). My wife says that she will never forget that evening. The crew did everything possible to make our stay the best.

5* Budapest to Amsterdam by Riverboat - Northbound
This was our first riverboat cruise and our journey from Budapest to Amsterdam far exceeded our expectation. The cruise director and tour directors were excellent. The transition from one ship to the other was very smooth and effortless. The crew from both ships were superb. The scenery throughout the cruise was awe inspiring. Excellent trip. The most significant moments were the dinner and Concert at Palais Ferstel in Vienna. Other significant moments were the visit to the Melk Abbey and St. Peter’s Cathedral in Regensburg. Equally memorable was the Siegfried’s Musikkabinet and Gondola ride in Rudesheim. Visit to Cologne Cathedral and Rijksmussum in Amsterdam were exhilarating.

5* Reconnecting
This journey was planned as a way for my daughters to reconnect. My mission was accomplished - they had a marvelous 15 days enjoying one another while exploring the grandeur of the rivers and cities. We all had a truly wonderful experience. Tauck provides a superb platform for exploration and a delightful way of making each day a fresh experience. Revisiting some cities I had not seen since the 1950's. AND the locks, amazing! The crew was outstanding and the ship was beautifully maintained.

5* Facinating & Incredible
Most likely the best cruise we've ever been on. From the food to the cabin to the staff to the villages, all were top notch. Tauck takes care of everything, no worries at all. MS Treasures is beautiful, our September weather was perfect, and Tauck has the best tour guides in the industry. We'll take another one soon. Thank you Tauck! Too many to note, but the dinner in Vienna was lovely, the Abbey at Melk was beautiful, and we really loved Budapest. But the schnapps shots and German soul-train in Rudesheim will forever live in my memory.

5* First cruise but not the last!
This is the best trip of any kind we have ever had and we have done a lot of traveling. We learned so much as well as enjoyed every minute. The staff of both Tauck and Scylla were superb and couldn't do enough for us! We will definitely travel with Tauck again without any hesitation! The concert at the Palais Palavacini!

5* Budapest to Amsterdam dream trip
This trip was absolutely wonderful. The scenery was beautiful and enjoyed in such a leisurely fashion from the deck of the rivership. The Tauck staff and the ship's staff were outstanding. Every detail of the trip is handled to make certain that the guests never have to worry about anything. Tours and food were fantastic. So many it's hard to choose. Touring Europe on a rivership is just so relaxing and the camaraderie on board is super. It was fun each day to go over highlights with our fellow travelers. This is a "bucket list" trip.

5* Our family trip on the Tauck's river cruise
We were a little worry to take our whole family of 6 on the recent River Cruise Trip from Budapest to Amsterdam because we have 2 young grand kids age 6 & 8, they're a little too young to mix with other peoples most are the senior guests on this ship, but they had a great time and everything work out perfect, for sure we will do it again in future The great crews on this ship, everyone tried so hard to please our grand kids to make sure we all enjoy our trip. All the on-shore tours are wonderful, not too heavy and just nice for all of us. As always, Tauck's tours are the best.

5* Tauck quality all the way
This cruise took us through magnificent countryside, especially the Danube and Rhine gorges. Visits to the bigger cities were well organised but on this trip we really loved the time we spent in the smaller cities/towns as the personalities of the places and often of the guides really shone through. Tauck talks were great too. Visit to the fairytale town of Rothenburg

4* Our first Tauck trip- Won't be our last!
My sister did the same trip with another company. She said it was too long and too many people. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The food was fantastic, the guides and staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the pace, and there were enough alternatives that you weren't bored ever. The all inclusive price was magical/relaxing. We enjoyed engaging with the other people on board and the smaller group of the Tauck trips. Of course the scenery was magnificent.

5* Memorable Trip!
From the moment we stepped foot into the ship we felt the friendliness and welcome environment! The river cruise was unforgettable, cruising overnight and reaching your next destination the following morning. The local tour guides were very informative and knowledgeable. Tour directors always at hand should you require anything. 100% will be back! Vienna Evening was the highlight of the cruise, we enjoyed ballet, opera and classical music in one night. Also, the food on board the ship was superb and plentiful which offered cold and hot buffet b'fast, lunch and dinner with chef's specialties! Evening meal was fine dining at its best! Staff were very professional and attentive. Thank you Tauck

4* Fantastic Voyage
From the moment we got on the ship until we left we were treated like royalty. We wanted for nothing. Anything we asked for, either on the menu or a drink in the lounge, or an extra pillow, all our requests were met. All the ship's crew members and Tauck directors were fantastic. They were all very warm, friendly and welcoming. When we walked down to the wine cellar in the Bishop's Residence in Wurzburg. We knew we were going to a wine tasting but we did not expect that kind of ambiance. To be in this 300 year old cellar surrounded by massive wine casks and lit almost solely by hundreds of candles was breathtaking! It was a true WOW moment!

4* Great opportunity to see a lot of the countryside and small towns.
This was a busy, yet relaxing trip. We visited beautiful cities and wonderfully historic small towns. There was a variety of activities with the arts, history - medieval and WWI & WWII, and enjoying the local culture. We also had time to view the countryside while visiting with new friends. So much to see and do! The dinner at the Palais Paliavicini was phenomenal. The musicians and dancers were excellent, and the food was delicious.

5* Two weeks, three rivers, memories to last a lifetime
We wanted to do something special for our 25th wedding anniversary and so decided on Tauck's incredible 2-week River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. First off, we knew that Tauck had a reputation for doing things first class and right. We were not disappointed. The food on board was gourmet quality, the spirits top shelf, and the wines superb. In a Vienna, Austria palace, we enjoyed a magical Imperial Viennese evening, featuring a grand gourmet dinner and entertainment from a professional chamber music group with ballet and opera selections and performers. Other great memories include beautiful churches, medieval towns, castles along the river, and beautiful bucolic landscapes.

5* Queen for a Cruise
My first river cruise but definitely not my last! Wonderful to sightsee on a floating hotel [where you don't have to pack up every day or so]. Loved the ship's small size lending to a more intimate atmosphere. And the Tauck directors, ship crew and staff just awesome! The food was 5+ star and all services were over the top! I felt like a queen! Dinner at the Palais Pallivicini in Vienna where we were treated and felt like royalty :)

5* Another Best Vacation River Cruise with Tauck
This Budapest to Amsterdam river cruise was our 2nd Tauck river cruise and again was really an outstanding experience. The Tauck staff and ship crew crew all provided superb service with their professionalism, knowledge, and courtesy. The local guides were tops with expert knowledge. And of course all the food and beverages were outstanding. All of the experiences were truly memorable. The Vienna evening at the palace with gourmet dining and musical entertainment was one of many highlights. Also the wine tastings and beer tastings in Germany were very nice as was Tauck hosted lunches at several outstanding local restaurants allowing us to experience the local cuisine.

4* Up the lazy river
As a retired sailor, I made many cruises, but this was my first leisure, and our 6th Tauck tour. Having been a Food Service Officer, it was nice to sit back and have someone else supervise the chow, and it was good. The 72 locks were boring, but most were at night. As usual, the excursions were interesting. It was a typical Tauck quality experience Visiting the Amsterdam Zoo on our own after the tour ended. The castles, churches, towns etc. all ran together, but I remembered the zoo.

5* Fabulous way to travel
We just loved the MS Esprit, its crew, and our Tauck Directors. It was a pleasure to have this comfortable cabin available for two weeks time. There was a full breadth of experiences, yet time to relax and connect with other travelers. Extraordinary commentary from Tauck Directors and local guides serve to enhance the adventure. On Day 9 we entered Bamberg on a sunny Sunday morning. It was like a fairytale moment. The beautiful timber-framed little houses along the river, the flower boxes, the stone bridges, the manicured town center all welcome you to enjoy this magical location.

Starting with the hotel on our pre-cruise stay in Budapest through our delivery to the airport in Amsterdam, absolutely everything was beyond our expectations. The entire staff on the Esprit was a pleasure and had a huge positive impact on the overall experience. The Gala Evening in Vienna was one of those "we will never forget" moments. The musicians, dancers, and singers were top notch. And the venue was right out of the 18th century.

5* Magnificent
This is our very first river cruise and it was exactly what we were looking for. We have both recently retired and wanted to make our first visit to Europe a broad brush taste of cities and towns This visit provided that experience as well as the guided history of each town we visited. This questions is difficult to answer since everyday wes a new adventure, but the magical dinner at the Palais Pallavicini in Vienna was an experience soon not forgotten. But what I remember most is the conversations and friendships along the journey with many of the guest on board the ship. Sharing the experience of each day with others facinati

5* Trip of a LifeTime
My husband, Mike, and I had this trip on our "bucket list" of things to do while we still could! We were excited and anticipatory of a great trip before we left for Budapest. It lived up to our expectations and much more! The low water on the Danube River didn't dampen our enjoyment at all! So much history! Amazing sights! Fantastic trip. Not one thing stood out. Every excursion was amazing! We loved it all. While we have been to Amsterdam several times before this trip, we still learned some new things about the history and the area.
