Travel Department is Ireland’s leading escorted tour operator, with multiple departure airports across the UK. In Scotland these depart from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. In Northern Ireland they fly from Belfast (plus Dublin and Cork) and for passengers from the South they depart from Bristol and a range of London airports. They have over 23 years’ experience of crafting beautifully curated, inspirational itineraries to worldwide destinations, all accompanied by expert local guides. With many Irish nationals travelling on their tours, the mood is upbeat, friendly and light-hearted, with conversations, story-telling, and sometimes even a little singing and dancing extending late into the evening. It makes for a fun, inclusive group where everyone feels welcome.
They are experienced and passionate about what they do, recruiting the very best guides and holiday planners, who work meticulously to perfect every detail, constantly checking the quality of everything they offer from hotels, airports and cruise ports to excursion destinations. Travel Department work closely with their friendly, local guides who impart their insight and knowledge of each destination in the programme. The guides are passionate about sharing that knowledge and work hard to enhance each holiday, from pointing out the best tapas bars and shops, to restaurants known only to the locals. Their advice can make independent days just as memorable as the ones with an included excursion.
They also recognise that service is everything, so they encourage customer feedback to continually develop and improve what they offer you. That’s also why customers come back to book with them again and again. They love the camaraderie of being with like-minded people and the ‘Craic’ of joining their Irish groups, knowing they’ll see and experience the best of the world and have plenty of fun along the way.
All Travel Department holidays are ATOL protected. Travel Department is also a member of AITO, the Specialist Travel Association. AITO checks that all its members are professionals, so you don’t have to, and all AITO members sign up to a Quality Charter ensuring the highest standards.
